Is that a painted rear diffuser? Why would you paint it black? Isn't it made of black plastic?

So many better ways to spend your money. Should have asked for an X-Brace...makes a HUGE difference on your car.

the x-brace is roughly $120 with hardware brand new...usually you can find a decent used one for about 100 bucks.....not that expensive for something that makes a hell of a difference....

I also coulda bought a civic as a commuter and saved 5 grand and invested it? Thats a better way of spending my money right?

I dont get why you have to hate but thats your opinion, and its my car. :)

It will all come in time....im still starting out.

You bought a M3 so you didnt have to do anything to it cosmetically. Im going back and fourth between cosmetic and performance.

Just to make you happy a Xbrace or a exhaust is next though :).

I didn't post anything resembling "hate" or "opinions", only facts. From personal experience and common sense. The diffuser won't even fit right because you don't have an M3 rear bumper. Unless it's a replica from umnitza. The X-Brace will drastically change your handling as well as protect your oilpan as you need all the help you can get with a lowered car.

You can have my old M3 exhaust for $50 if you want it, lol.

If anything, I'm being REALLY nice to you considering the ass reeming I've given other tools who have virtually stock cars and try to throw M Aesthetics on them.

Yea, I don't think Mitchel was being hard on you or trying to bash on your new item...just giving some insight to future mod related purchases.

you might take him up on that exhaust offer though!:)

Well its not a M3 its for non m3s so it fits perfect I dont know if its umnitza ....How much of a difference in a m3 exhaust and Mine? I would But i would also like to upgrade to a REALLY nice one you know? Not just upgrade halfway then upgrade again.

Like i said Im still starting out. I have a list of mods to do and this came up at a good price thats all.

Nothing intended just sounded like you were calling me a dumbass for choosing something cosmetic rather than performance.

If i had a stock car and tryed to make it look M. I would gladly bend over and take it. There isnt really much else to do to the rear except a diffuser so thats why I got it. The front has a lot of possibilitys and I dont want to put a M-front Bumper on it if i can help it.

About 25lbs. That's really it. I would go for a custom Magnaflow setup--most bang for your buck, sound and HP wise.

how much they run ?

JohnnyWash1

Well, you'd have to buy the muffler and then get custom piping at a local muffler shop. I think the muffler itself goes for $50-100, depending on where you buy (eBay is always the cheapest for this). The piping and install is largely dependent on your shop. I would budget about $250 for the entire thing.

magnaflows HONESTLY sound like hell.

Having heard both the SS Autochrome mufflers sound better and is around the same price.

don't base it off of Mike's car, his sounds amazing, it doesn't sound that great on coupes/sedans with the dual exhaust tips instead of mikes quads.

That one's not too bad.

Custom Magnaflow seems like a YMMV experience--depending on who does the work, if you keep the cats and/or resonators, and which muffler you buy.

Any clips of Mike's Mcoupe for comparison?

Meh, UUC drones like crazy too, but people like it. I can't remember the guy's name, but there is a nice custom magnaflow build in the E36 section if you do a search. He has clips, part numbers, etc. Sounds wonderful.

UUC is rediculously loud at low RPM's, it's virtually impossible to be quiet and it makes you sound like a little kid honestly.

You get what you pay for with exhaust.

True. My magna-flow sounded awesome on my old 328. It sounded 5 times better on my buddy's M3. Cost me 200 dollars installed with tips that looked perfect on E36s.
