i'm about to do the LS1 swap into 3 series
how much did it run you guys?

I'll be paying $6k + engine/tranny = about $9k for a shop to put it in and do all the wiring, etc ... seeing how the ls1 no weld kits run that much + engine + installation, my price seems like a deal .. but i want to know how much u guys shelled out, if it's not a secret

$6k seems steep for a swap and $9k seems like too little for the install. Are you getting the engine/trans from the same place that's doing the work?

To an extent though......

The extents are pretty large in this business.

I don't plan on even having $6000 into everything involved in my swap but it's still top notch. A lot of it comes down to how much you're able to do on your own.

If I were doing it for someone else though and all they brought me was the car they'd be looking at about $15K turn-key... which is the same figure as above... but I'd call it $4K motor and $11K labor just to be honest about where the funds go.

I would tell you not to even consider this swap if you want be doing any of the work yourself. Most likely your car will be gone for months, and the labor will be 10000+
