My 2005 545i came off lease and I really liked the car except for the transmission and tire issues (see thread for 545i transmission slam). Living in Ohio the sport package on this car was a hassle requiring four dedicated snow tires and rims for winter driving. The 2005 545i sport package was only available with “summer tires”. I did not want to deal with this again. I opted for the 535xi. I utilized the BMW web site in selecting my options. I totally overlooked the sport package as I knew that when I ordered my 545i the “summer tires” were part of the package. As I tooled through the web page using the build your BMW feature the picture coming up showed seats in the car like the ones in my 545i. The seats in all the pictures were actually what the 535xi manual describes as comfort seats (you don’t find this out till you get the car home and read the manual). When I picked up the 535xi and sat in the standard seats in my new car I was very disappointed but because I thought this is how all the new BMW seats were and I headed down the road.. The sales rep never informed me the other seats that I had in the 545i were available without having to get the summer tires. This major change for the 2008 535xi was nowhere to be found on the web page. The dealership had no 535xi’s on the lot at the time of my purchase so how was I to know that different seats were available? Even the inventory of 525’s all were equipped with standard seats. After looking through the manual and realizing what occurred I contacted the sales rep and BMW North America to find that the old drive it off the lot and its yours holds true with BMW (3 days and less than 100 miles). I now have a car with a $58,000 sticker that I don’t enjoy. I was not going to post any of this until I found that BMW just changed the web page to clear up the sport package and picture issue. Now when you ad a feature the picture changes to reflect the features added. I got to look at some nice pictures when I ordered my car but did not get the car I was looking at and built on the web page or the car I wanted. VERY, VERY disappointed. KFS

It's a bit unfair. You were satisified with the car as it was when you purchased it. After finding out comfort seats were availible you became dissappointed that you did not have the seats. You didnt build the car with the comfort seats and then not get the comfort seats. You got what you ordered.
Try to enjoy the car for what it is. or take a loss and sell it.
cheers

Wow, K. Did you specifically ask the sales rep what seating options were available for the 535 before you bought/leased it? If you didn't and he presented a package that you liked well enough to buy/lease, I don't see why you'd be disappointed in anyone but yourself. If you asked and were given false information, that would be different, but expecting any BMW new car sales rep to go over each and every single available option individually is just not realistic. To be honest, it sounds like sour grapes from the last BMW spilling over into the new one. BMWs aren't perfect. It might be time for a clean break from the brand. I highly recommend Lexus vehicles, although I wouldn't expect their sales person to review each and every available option either...

Well BMW gives you the right to refuse the car you ordered if it is not to your liking. To me this sounds like an uneducated (in the BMW sense) and is having remorse after finding out he/she did not know what they were buying

I think you should have done your homework

My wife and I did tons of research and visited multiple dealers to figure out what options we really wanted in our new 535xit.

If you don't have the time to do the homework how can you expect to be satisfied?
