Hey guys,

I just purchased an '05 CPO Li and had a couple of questions. First, there was a Motorola bluetooth information card (plastic about the size of a credit card) with serial#'s and pairing code that was included with my paperwork but there is nothing in my manual that relates to bluetooth. Can I assume that the car has integrated bluetooth somewhere? I tried to pair my iPhone but putting it into discovery mode but it didn't pickup a BT receiver. I do have the Moto V60 that is integrated in the center console.

Second question, Is the single in-dash CD player capable of playing MP3 format CD's? My wife's '03 Mercedes E500 has this capability and I would think that an '05 BMW would as well. I inserted an MP3 recorded CD and it seemed to recognize that it was playable as it displayed track 1. However, I could not advance the track and no volume was present. I wasn't sure if the disc itself may have damaged or even if the CD player was MP3 compatible? Anyone have any info with regards to my questions? Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Scott

Look in the center console where the phone should go. (RH side rear) There should be a black box in that slot. It is the BT adaptor for our cars. If not, you will need to buy one ABD make sure your phone is on the BMW BT compatable list. I am running a Razr v3. It works, okay.

Yes. The in dash will play MP3's. Mine does.

Anyone else know what year model saw the ability to play MP3 recorded discs in the single slot?

What year is your car?

Look at the upper right of T56 Impala's post and you'll see that he actually has info about his BMW listed so that if he asks a question or replys to a post...anyone reading it can glance up and reference what BMW he has. :)

Making your car's model & year info a part of a permanent signature or list it in your car info is more important in helping others to help you better than listing the particulars of a non BMW car. :)

QSiler7,

Thank you for the info as I didn't even notice.

T56,

I see that you live in Roswell. I am in ATL every week. In fact, I know several folks up at Motorcars of GA (Lambo dealer) up there on Roswell Rd. and visit with them quite often! OK, now that I see that you own an '05, can you tell me your production month and year?

Thanks,
Scott

I have a 10/04 production date and it doesn't appear to play MP3 recorded discs. Can someone else with an '05 comment, and what is your production date? Thank you!

Mine is a 9/04 production car. It plays MP3's that I burn to discs. Is mine the odd car around here? Maybe it had something to do with the Sirius upgrade problem but it works with mine.

I was not aware that the in dash played MP3 CD's, I thought just the changer does. In my 2007 the manual states that the changer will play mp3's, but doesn't say the in dash can. I have yet to put a CD of any variety in the car as I have the Ipod Kit. I doubt I will ever burn a CD again! Sorry to gloat, it just pissed me off for so long that there were no ipod options on my 2002.

You have a point and I should clarify, I too never tried the in dash player only the changer. I need to go check it out!

My 2007 750 plays MP3s only fron CD changer. On the CD changer MP3s Voice control goes up to track30 only. From 30-39 it goes to track 3, from 40-49 it goes to track 4 and so on. Can anybody get the higher tracks (>30) correctly??
