I think the 2002 745 has so-so speakers and I believe I'd get the best sound from upgrading the stock front mid's and tweeters. Suggestions? I like the MB Quart Q series and am thinking about the QSD 210's. Suggestions? Has anyone done a speaker upgrade?

do you have the logic 7 stereo system or the base stereo?

If you have DSP, this can be hard, you'll need to replace the factory amp.

Is it that tough to replace the front door mids and tweeters? I've got the tools and skills, just not the experience or manuals. Since it's the Logic 7, and the previous posting said I'd have to replace the amp, what amp is recommended ? Is that a plug-n-play, or is there splicing?

If so, there are no pure plug and play amp replacements, though the only way to keep your factory amp is if you get the Stage I upgrade from BSW. They replace all of your speakers and those are very easy to install. Just plug em in.

Is the Stage 1 upgrade for the '02 745 available? There website says it's in development.

If anyone has upgraded to the Stage 1, how is it? A $600 difference? If it truely is a speaker upgrade of all speakers and they are as good as Focal or MB Quart Q Series, $600 is a bargain!

the logic 7 system imo sounds great, i wouldnt mess with it... however if you want to, leave the amp alone for now and upgrade the speakers. Your car has a MOST bus and the amp is hooked into that, meaning you start messing with that and you may get into big problems....
