We have a 2006 525i and are having problems with the car loosing power and rough idling. The RPM gauge does not move when the accelerator is pressed to the floor. After turning the car off and restarting, the car turned over constantly even after removing your hand off the key. The CAM sensor was replaced, however, the car is again at the dealership with the same problem. Any advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated!!!

sounds like a faulty crank sensor.

by the way, the car is supposed to continue cranking with your hand off the key. it's called comfort start. you flick the key to the start position and let go, and it will continue to crank till the engine starts. have had this since E39/E39. but since your car won't start, the engine just cranks, and cranks, and cranks.
