View Full Version : 750il Highline WOW
rollinfree 12-19-2007, 09:15 PM So I have been thinking about getting a newer (99-01)750 to go with my 96 740il and thought I would share this listing I ran across. I really can't see selling my 740 but I could pass it to my daughter. I really don't want to spend this much but this car is really cool, if it doesn't sell i might make an offer on it.

board57796 12-19-2007, 09:19 PM Wow that thing is like new! Look at the steering wheel, its a thing of beauty, not shiny at all. I doubt it will sell at that price. Good luck! The V-12 rocks.
Jblaze 12-19-2007, 09:21 PM for 30k I would say I would buy a 03 745li, but that's just me. But that Highline is VERY clean and exclusive.
gspdave45 12-19-2007, 09:27 PM Well, it is a gorgeous car, and low miles to boot. Mine is not highline but it is every bit as clean, plus I have a 4 year transferrable warranty that will go with the car. I'm willing to talk about the price....

board57796 12-20-2007, 12:30 AM When I had those wheels on my car I couldn't wait to get them off. Now I miss them :-(
Cruiser740i 12-20-2007, 12:36 AM Is it my browser or is it missing 10 cylinders?
Of course a 5.4 Liter 2 cylinder would be a oversized vibrator!!
Condition: Used
Exterior: Blue
Engine: 2 CYLINDERS 5.4 Liters
Inspection: --
Fuel Type: Gasoline
ucbearcats27 12-20-2007, 01:06 AM I just got those wheels and had my all season tires mounted on them. I have my snow tires on the ellipsoid wheels and won't be able to see the 750 wheels on my car until after winter :(
dophineh 12-20-2007, 03:42 AM 6 bids... and the highest is 30,000? Who in their right mind would bid 30,000 on a low mileage e38 v12. And the reserve isn't even met!. Low mileage is a double edged sword.
On a slightly more positive note, that's definitely the best factory (unmodded) e38 I've ever seen.
Low mileage is a double edged sword.
:pityfool
T56 Impala 12-20-2007, 11:44 AM I had a set of those wheels for my e38. I mounted snows on them!
Nice car, too $$$$ though.
mre9242 12-20-2007, 01:53 PM Very nice, great quality
Swordsman 12-20-2007, 02:47 PM I did notice he had bids and that the current bid was $30K. A bit steep, but he is probably right that this is the most mint 750iL available in the country, especially if you put a lot of stock in low miles. Myself, I'd love to hear the explanation for why a 7 year old car has only 3K miles/year on it. Cars that are driven so seldom can have problems you wouldn't foresee.
What I did NOT notice is that the reserve is still not met. This guy is out of his mind! He should take $30K and run like hell. I don't know what exactly he thinks he's going to get. I will be interesting to see.
I love my 750iL and agree thoroughly with his comments that it outshines the newer model years, though he didn't mention the 760Li,did he? The only thing I've ever wanted in my 750iL that I don't have is the piping on the seats. I actually like the interior color scheme better than the Highline, though the Highline leather is (theoretically) nicer. I have never been in an e38 Highline to compare.
Louiseven 12-20-2007, 04:48 PM It is very clean, but agreed I'd like to know who buys such a driving machine and not drive it. Far as the rims go I just pulled those rims off my 750,you guys are making me miss them. Thank goodness I did not sell them.
30K I am hoping it goes for more, maybe our market will suddenly appreciate.:D
EDIT: Did not meet reserve at $30,100.
