Has anyone done it? Is it a big job? any diy info is appreciated.

Its not good news.

Once the trans is out.. (Yes remove the trans) unbolt the engine mounts from the cross member, lift the engine a bit, remove all of the pan bolts, drop the pan down slightly and slide it rearward (into the trans tunnel, hence the trans removal)

If your going to be in that deep, you should be thinking about a new clutch and accessories plus an oil pump while your there.

Thanks- Definately not worth my while.

I just had it steam cleaned to be sure where the leak is coming from-def the pan gasket.

Just dropped it off at the shop- 3.5 hours-ouch.

Oh, and I had the perf clutch and lightweight flywheel installed this summer--Damn, wish I had thought ahead and done it then.

If the pan leaks enough eventually you'll draw air between the gasket and the oil pickup. The engine blows up at that point. You need to replace it.

The front part of the pan has the pickup built into it.

Yes- as I said above, I dropped it off at the shop yesterday. It's getting done, thanks for the input.
