How do you tell what options a car came with from factory?

I am looking at a 2004 745Li and want to know what options the car was built with?

Thanks!!

a while back, one of the members here pulled the option codes for my car by using the VIN. sorry, he has not been here lately. maybe try asking a dealer near you. btw, welcome.

I just found this info in a U.K. forum, try that:

quote:
You can get this information from BMW whenever you want it, just send full VIN to customer.information@bmwfin.com and they will reply with the original build information..

PrePurchase Inspection and warranty and you are set! Also pull a VIN Service History Check so you'll know what repairs have been done!

I would go to any of the car info sights like www.cars.com , www.edumunds.com , www.kbb.com and pull up the info about the car. They have all the info about what came standard with the car and what options were available.

You could then compare that info with the info you found out what is on/in the car you have. Some of the things you listed may be standard equipment. If you get the options list from any of the aforementioned websites (or www.bmwusa.com) you can look around the car for the options...if the buttons or whatever aren't there...that means you can cross that one off the list. :D
