Anybody have this problem? Today on the way to work my stereo turned off for no reason then right back on. Then after getting gas tonight my stereo, OBC, and cluster read out don't turn on. Not only that but when I get home the keyless no longer works or the sunroof controls either. At this point I locked the driver's door with the key and it won't unlock unless you do it from the inside :shifty
My driveway is pitch black and I don't have a light so I won't be able to look into it until I get back to the shop at work tomorrow. Maybe a fuse blown? Anybody have some ideas? My Bentley manual is at work too...

sounds like what happened to me; the fuseable link (80a) near the battery is broken.

I'll check that out.
I imagine that's what it is because today when I went out to warm up my car everything is fine. The OBC says it's 2:17 when it's really 7:45 yet after I lost the display(s) yesterday the car still started and drove fine so it's obviously an isolated problem

Link was broken, now the question is where to get a new one?
I called Baron BMW near our shop and they wanted over $30 and I probably wouldn't have it until after the holiday which isn't going to work
I may have to come up with an alternate means of getting a fuse in there.

$30?! WTF?! :eyecrazy
I've never heard of them being more than $2. Your dealer is either talking about another part (like the whole assembly for the fusible link) or they are trying to completely rip you off.
Call them back and tell them that you JUST want the little 80amp ribbon fuse for the fusible link. I bought one from my dealer about 2 months ago for $0.91.

Yeah Baron BMW is a joke, not to mention they aren't very knowledgeable. I made the guy double check that we were talking about the same thing a few times and he confirmed so I'm going to contact another local dealer and get a real price. Either way it's probably going to be a day or so. For now I have a wire rated at a maximum load of 80 amps in there so I can at least close the sunroof and lock the car since everything went dead again before I could even get to work today.
