Well here is the deal guys. I am a second year college student. Cars are my passion and what keeps me sane. I just got a 1985 BMW 318. I am absolutly in love with the car. I bought it originally thinking that I would import the new diesel 3.0l M57 for it. I was thinking that 276 Horse power and 411 torque with about 40 miles to the gallon would be perfect. I mean perfect for me. Plus, I would love to have a diesel BMW. I can not say that enough. Anyways, I am having a hard time finding the engine and parts at an afford price. The dollar presently becoming worthless is not helping. So now I am looking at some different options. What would you guys suggest? I am looking to stay under 4,500 in cost. I will do all of my own labor and have a shop to use, so don't count those cost. I want a car that will be my daily driver. It needs to get good gas mileage(30+), put down lots of power(look at those diesel stats), and generally speaking be amazing. I was thinking about looking for a M roadster in a junk yard and trying to get the engine, suspension, and seats? What would you do? Thanks.
