I just finalized a deal on a 335xi over the G35x sport. Are there any items I should add to the Christmas list to help me survive the wait? The 335xi will be my daily driver in the midwest, so I included the winter floor mats as part of the deal. I will be getting a Bk/Bk, sport, premium, Ipod, cold weather, manual trans and sat. radio (would have preferred HD).

Does the cold weather package come standard with the xi? You'll really be happy with the "bun warmers". They heat both your buns and your back within about 30 seconds.

Was it tough to find a manual... especially in an xi model? Oh yeah, you special ordered it from the factory. I learned that it's very hard to find the manuals on the 335's.

When I get my next 335i, it'll have the Comfort Access doohicky and the iPod thingie.

You could add that new Dinan re-flash and a good radar detector to you list.

The cold weather package is still an option on the xi. The manual trans is rare, but the one I am getting is somewhere crossing the Atlantic Ocean. When my dealer did the search for the options I was looking for he did not omit automatic trans from the search initially. Over 200 cars showed available. When he took the automatic out the search was reduced to 14.

True... comfort access is really worth the $500. I hardly ever touch my key fob other than when I'm taking it out of my pocket at night or when I'm putting it in my pocket in the morning. When I have to drive my other car, I get so frustrated when I have to reach in my pocket, pull out the key fob and press buttons and stuff... such a hassle and time waster!!! :) If you're in a cool climate area, or at least as cool as a brisk San Diego morning in the "winter", those bun warmers really are one of the best things about the car. Sure the twin turbos are pretty awesome, but the bun warmers come in at a close 2nd. ;)

However, the fact that you got the manual is going to give you non-stop fun and excitement no matter what kind of extra gizmo's you got in the car, so don't worry about it. If I had a base 335 with the manual, I'd still be in heaven... the extras just push it over the top.
