Here is a route I scouted through Washington County just West of Portland for a proposed drive.

It starts at a Starbucks in Orenco, does a figure 8 through Forest Grove, Gales Creek and the outskirts of Hillsboro and then returns to the Buffalo Wild Wings (BW3) just down the road.

What side of town are you on?

I've always enjoyed FS-46 at the end of 224 (Estacada). You wont' get all the way to Detroit due to snow, but it's a great drive through the foot hills.
