depends on how bent? I assume they all still will hold air with tires mounted.

But if they are so bent it can be balanced then not very much

I don't know about the price of the wheel, but you can add the cost of "straightening" into your negotiations. It will cost about $100 per wheel to straighten (make it round again) if they can be straightened.

Rumor has it that Foster's Wheel Service in Ballard is closed. Auto Styles in Bellevue is also closed, but there is a fairly nice shop in Renton called Dependable Wheel Repair (webpage available?). The shop owner here (Tim) has a funny saying, "You can balance a pear, but you just can't make it roll round."

Balancing a bent wheel may hide the problem, but the issue is that it is out of round. This will cause uneven wear on tires. Until the tire wears flat spots to compensate for the out-of-roundness, you cannot usually avoid at least SOME vibration. Vibration is not only annoying but can damage many components of your car. If you are buying bent wheels, plan on straightening them (and get a $100/wheel discount for what it will cost you to fix them)...

I saw these on Ebay last week with really small print saying they were bent...:nono Hopefully someone didn't get suckered.:(
