I got home this afternoon after taking the 635 to do some Christmas shopping and noticed someone had dumped a 94' Escort on my property and tried to open the drivers door on the M6 with a screw driver. It popped off the lock cover, which I can't seem to find, and mangled the lock pretty good. The key still fits and opens the doors, it's a little stiff, and now I'm sitting at home with the lights off with my buddy Sig Sauer P226 in my palm. If they show up again I hope I don't hit the car, lol. I'll probably fall asleep soon but it makes me feel good for the moment. Bah humbug! :mad

Sorry to hear about that... Someone backed into our honda causing thousands in damage to almost immaculate DD. Some people really have to respect. :mad

All of my 6's are from 80 and earlier or else I would help you out since I won't be using the locks most likely on my parts car.

Good luck and hopefully someone on here can give you a good deal to get your six back in shape.

You can buy a new lock cylinder with extra tumblers so you can key it to match the rest of locks and you current key.

Hi stoner,Sorry about what happened to you. I know how you feel. look back at some of my posts and you will see that. Anyway, On ebay there are offers for handles all the time. here is iten # from a reputable seller for door locks Item number: 250198413440 under bmw 635 parts and accessories. You are so right about lack of respect JRbrough. I had my L6 broken into Shattered passenger window and deformed damaged trim for a hundred dollar stereo. The real sad part is the thieves know that nothing will happen even if they get caught so there is no deterent for them. Good luck Stoner.

Sounds like a new cylinder or just a handle with lock will do. I just wanted to see if any of you guys wanted get rid of any extra parts that might be collecting dust before I go bid on ebay or an OEM supplier. I think I can fix it with a new lock cover and some good adhesive. They want almost $60.00 for a new handle with lock. I guess with ebay I'll just have to be patient. Merry Christmas.

How not to fix your lock:

This has a link showing how to get the door panel off:

Here is a Quote I copied from one of the forums:

"Lock cylinder is $25 at dealer. Comes with an assortment of pins. You look at your old cylinder, get the code off of it and insert new pins to match. The pins are numbered and the code tells you the order they go install in.

The part number is 51219556329

It is called rep. Kit F lock cylinder. Comes with the pins to set to your key. My cost at BMW where i go is $23.50 a cylinder"

It's #11 below:

What a burn!! I rely rather heavily on Mr. Heckler and Mr. Koch for their research into the realm of 40 S&W. :D

Nothin like a peice of forged steel to ease the mind. I amost forgot how good Packmeyer grips feel. I'm going to do this more often but hopefully not for the same reason.
