View Full Version : Help me pick a F1 poster
Fissionx 12-15-2007, 11:13 PM I have decided to get a really good (framed) F1 poster for xmas and i am having trouble deciding on exactly which one. The best site I have found is the Cahier Archive which in my understanding is an agglomeration of several photographers, past an present. http://www.f1-photo.com
I keep going back between schumacher and hamilton. Anyways, here are a couple good ones I found, i'm just looking for some other suggestions.
I like the story of the people as much as the technology and performance of the sport and for this style of poster I am looking for people/faces rather than a helmet in the car.

There are so many amazing pictures it is hard to chose one.
M3Alpine99 12-15-2007, 11:39 PM Find something classic, a senna or the like so it will be "cool" forever ;)
Of the two posted the first is WAYYYY better.
Sform576 12-16-2007, 12:30 AM Of those two, #1. I would continue to look for posters. Action shot would be money; a pass or high speed turn.
I used to have the link for some awesome vintage bimmer posters, but, alas, i can't find it. I think I posted it before, though.
Sform576 12-16-2007, 12:36 AM Great scott! I've found it!
Probably a repost, but I'm the OP so it doesn't count as a repost.

Ianbiz 12-16-2007, 12:59 AM I like the second one. The only reason i dont like the first one is because you cant see schumy's eyes.

+1 /thread ;)
Fissionx 12-16-2007, 12:08 PM I am so torn about what to get. I only really started watching F1 back in 2000, the Senna - Prost era was before my time, I really haven't even seen that many races with them; I wouldn't know the story behind the photo (where they were in the championship or their career) and although they are iconic drivers, it might not be as meaningful to ME.
Maybe i just need to buy a DVD w/ some of the older races, if it is truly that much better than F1 now.

I like that pic tho.

bigdog68 12-16-2007, 03:04 PM Yeah get a classic either hammy or schumi would be cool but unless you are directly a fan of the two not worthy of a framed wall spot.

oh wow there is your poster! That is AWESOME!
I am in the same boat as you. But I was 1 year old when the e30 first came out, doesn't mean it isn't the best BMW ever ;)
JuliusPleaser 12-16-2007, 05:22 PM If you want a Schumi poster, get one from his early days.

If you find a DVD with highlights from 1988 - 1992, please post a link. IMO, it was the most entertaining 5-year span in recent (last 20 years) F1 history.

I have that poster. I picked it up at Sebring or Daytona 8 or 9 years ago.
It's still packed in a tube. :az
One of these days it'll be framed and hung on a wall in my office or garage.

Don Nguyen 12-17-2007, 12:52 AM Very interesting. I didn't get much while trying to search for it, so I guess I must have been doing something wrong.
I didn't know what vodafone was for a while, but when I saw it on all of these race cars, I finally decided to look it up. I guess they must be big in europe or something.

JuliusPleaser 12-17-2007, 01:01 AM It's a Deutschland company, so you have to add "AG" to the name.
JuliusPleaser 12-17-2007, 01:05 AM Oh wow!!!!
The original pic is a little dark. Might be my monitor, but it looks better with a little extra flash.
