View Full Version : How to match 55w lows with 35w fogs...
bavdrftr318 12-15-2007, 12:50 AM So I've been doing some research and I've noticed that people are saying that the 55w H.I.D. kits wash out the color very badly compared to the 35w kits. I want the 8000k look (in relation to how 35w setups look). So in oreder to do this, I'm thinking I need to order the 10,000 55w kit for the low beams, along with the 8000k 35w kit for the fog lights. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... If possible keep the whole "this is rice stuff to a minimum" because I've already had 6000k and I want something a little more bluish. Thanks! :buttrock
P.S. the reason I don't want to get 55w for the fogs is because I think it will be too intense for oncoming traffic because it spreads the light out everywhere. Anyone who disagrees let me know. TIA

it all depends on the brands you choose, prolumen 55w in 10k will match a 6k kwd and an 8k prolumen digital, getting a perfect match may be tricky and since the 55w's are not all that expensive why not do both?
kpipalldaway2 12-15-2007, 12:53 AM that should match perfectly!
kpipalldaway2 12-15-2007, 12:54 AM my 55 watt prolumen 10k matched my 35 watt 8k prolumen fogs when i had them!
just fyi
bavdrftr318 12-15-2007, 01:07 AM Ok oh... what do you run now?
P.s. check your P.M.

I was going to do both but I don't wanna kill people with the foglights (because the light spreads out everywhere) as opposed to the projector low beams. Why are some people running h7's in their foglights?
P.S. I checked your site and it says you don't have 10,000k? it only goes to 8,000k? Why is this?
kpipalldaway2 12-15-2007, 01:14 AM i was running 10k and 10k both 55k. i ran h7s because i believed it had a better focal point, because i noticed a greater increase of light.

Ok, did they fit right in, or did you have to drill out the hole for your foglights? Also, I looked on habbie's site and it looked like he only had up to 8000k? Is there any way you can post pics of your current setup? And possibly night pics? If so that would be amazing!
Also why are 50w kits more expensive than 55w kits???
kpipalldaway2 12-15-2007, 01:35 AM i actually had to sell my headlights..... but search my threads for pics. and i think you have to ask habbei if he can get you 10k and it will cost you a little extra!

So let me get this straight, in this thread you had 8000k 35w h7 in the fogs, and 8000k 55w in the lows correct? Also is this the same setup as in your sig? I'm looking for some of your pics with the 10,000k but I can't find any. Thanks!

bavdrftr318 12-15-2007, 01:59 PM yeah...
bavdrftr318 12-15-2007, 02:23 PM kpip.... I talked to habbie and he said that he doubts that 55w 10,000k will put out as much light as my 35w 6000k. I know that you have probably run both and seen the difference what do you think?
Rakshas 12-15-2007, 02:36 PM What would be the best match (55w) to my 35w 6000k Prolumens(old style ballast)?
