So, my roomie and I are going to the box office at the Garden to get tickets for the First Night bruins game... where should we go for food/beers after? I kinda liked the nice low tab at the Red Hat last night...

There's a ton of bars right by the Garden out there. What kind of thing are you in the mood for? I can give you some ideas but I think I'm staying in the 'ville tonight for a bit of the ol' drinky-drinky.

Dinner and drafts... just bar fare like burgers or fish and chips... stuff like that. I perused the other threads that had lists of places but I didn't see anything for Wednesday nights...

Hm just found the thread about McCormick and Schmick's... I think we could get in there before 6:30. Anywhere else?

Union St isn't too far away and they have a lot of the standard crap. Might want to check out Canal St, right around the corner there. I don't know of any special deals but there are some sports bar type places that are worth checking out.

There is a beerworks over on Canal st. that's got a a decent selection of barfood and microbrews. 'The Green Dragon' over on marshall st near faneuil hall is also an old haunt of mine...one of the oldest bars in boston, paul revere used to get drunk with his buddies there, no joke.

Ooooo Boston Beerworks... I was at the Salem Beerworks quite a bit back when I was in college on the North Shore.

The Green Dragon place sounds awesome... I'd go there simply for the allure that history provides. :stickoutt

Green Dragon is a fun place. If you get there early-ish, the Bell in Hand is also really good for food and drinks. Union Bar is kinda pricey.

Check out canal street, which is a little closer to the garden than fanieul.... there's some chill bars on that street. Fanieul Hall is a good time too, a lot of places might be a bit dead on a tues... sometimes yes, sometimes no... so i'd check out the more well known places like Bell in Hand, The Point, Hennesey's...

The bars in that area I think are coolest on non-crazy packed nights, like how they get on the weekend nights.

It's all like a 2 min walk from where we were at the Red Hat last night.

Actually, that's not the actual Green Dragon that the tea party was planned at... the original building was destroyed in the mid 1800s, and I believe was in a slightly different location on some point of Union street in the north end, instead of the current location on Marshall street.

Here on "Guess what day it is" your only hint is: Your paycheck hits at midnight. :rofl

Sounds good... Got quite a few places to pick from now... I <3 Boston :D

The Bell in Hand is pretty slick since it's the nations oldest continuously open drinking establishment. It was opened by the city's first town crier in the late 1700s on elm street, about where city hall is nearby, and then moved to the current location in 1844.

Sunset is awesome for beer lovers... its not near the garden, though. 112 beers on tap and a couple hundred more in bottles to pick from. Good food too.... Allston rock city has some great places to go out to. I miss living right there. Lived right behind White Horse and all that shit w/ iamhydrogen and others for a while.

Wait...who is this? The name seems familiar, but I just can't place it? Did we meet once a long time ago while dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight?

P.S. Where is the vid/pics of the CK lights?

P.P.S. Where is the video from the BavAuto cruise home??!?!?!?!?!???!??!

CK probably getting programed this evening. Things have been a little hectic and we needed some other control module from her office.

I dunno what happened w/ the BavAuto cruise I think the footage wasn't all too hot so Tom kinda dismissed it. There was a thread not tooo long ago where he put a little something up about it.

Wooohoooo leaving now!!! It's post 5PM, so this thread can continue to flourish as a helpful list of the nightlife of Boston...

Wait. This is NE. Nevermind. :D

Hard to get bar food and drinks with the CK lights and video footage. Unless you were a hot chick wearing only the six foot strand of lights and the bavauto footage... :devillook
