Hey everyone, like the title states i'm wondering if anyone here has installed a new muffler tip (maybe with a little fab work by an exhaust shop) instead of a new muffler to go with their m-tech rear bumper. I installed a magnaflow muffler on my 528i (14815?) when I upgraded the rear bumper to m-tech, but I wasn't happy with the sound. I now have a 540i and am having an m-tech rear bumper installed on it, but would prefer to keep the stock muffler and stock sound of the car. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I did that exactly...It cost me less than $100 and was easy.
1. The shop has to cut off the original tip as it bends down. You cut it so that you can see the hole into the muffler.
2. Weld a small "s" shaped piece to the muffler so the tip is centered in the bumper cut-out.
3. Weld yoru tip to the new piece.

Trust me I felt the same way about the magnaflow on my 528, but it sounds great on my 540 I recommend you just putting it on.
