hi. just signed in and wanted to share some information about my 335i with 30,000 miles. i bought at the end of April 2007 with only 6 miles on it. my first issue came around 10,000 miles when my car started to rattle and squeak when accelerating. as i had my first serviced done they told me a exhaust hanger was lose so they said they replaced it. then at around 18,000 miles the rattle and squeak came back but this time with a loss in power. so i took it in again this time i spoke to a different service adviser who after a day or so told me that i was getting a brand new turbo (the left one) because the wastegate was leaking and the (left )turbo was only pushing 1 and a 1/2 lbs of boost when it should be pushing 4 lbs of boost. together making a total 8lbs of boost. so they replaced the turbo and wastegate. this was when the car was only about 4 months old with about 18,000 miles on it.
now i have 30,000 miles on it and the squeak, rattle, and loss of power are back again so i again took it in to the dealer and they told me that the "issue" has been noted by BMW and that a repair kit for it was on the way. on the way? how about two months on the way!!!
i just wonder how you all feel about this repair kit on the way stuff and has anyone eles heard of such a thing. thanks for listening........

Haven't heard of this particular one, but people with the fuel pump issue initially had to wait almost that long for parts. Must be that they just discovered the issue/solution and trying to get parts from their OEMs. Is the car still drivable or is it in the shop? It sucks to have the problems you do, but unfortunately machines fail. I must say though, you drive quite a lot, almost 5K miles per month, wow .

Wow!
That's alot of driving.
I bought my 335i 6MT Sedan in Nov. of "06" and I now have 9700 miles on it.
In this twelve months I have had the fuel pump fail and had the DSC Module replaced (last week) after having the brake light come on.
The brake light issue was interesting as out of nowwhere, the light would come on and show the service indicator of the car up on the jack. This happened three times. The first time the dealer found nothing wrong, and reset the system. The next time (thee months later) they had a BMW NA person there and they re-flashed the system. This last time BMW sent them a new DSC module and told them to replace it. The funny thing is that each time I brought the car into the dealer, the car's system told them that I had 399K on it and thus I needed brake pads. This was obviously a system error as I still have under 10K on the the little Bimmer.
Now, if turbo3 was driving the car, it may indeed have had 399K miles in one year.
:lol

Are you sure the car wasn't sneaking out at night driving all night long, then coming back into the garage and resetting its odometer? :shifty

Now that your asking, I did notice a hint of "Mini Cooper" aroma on my BMW's breath in the morning.
It must have been sneaking out and mating after bed time.

Well good thing it wasn't a Beetle ;) (anyone remember Herby with the Lancia?).
