I needed a buncha crap for the car, so i called up bmw and ordered a few sensors, shifter bushings, a moulding... And when they were delivered, i honestly thought i received the wrong part...

All of you in the know about bmw's prolly found out what this is about, lol, but apparently we don't have bushings? they're little plastic washers and stuff? prety cool cuz it cost me like 30 cents a piece, (wholesale ftw) but what am i supposed to do with them???

I'm worried that i'm gonna take my shifter apart and have no freakin idea where these washers and little clips go, and my boss is gonna tear my head off because i've been using his lift for 6 hours and the car still isn't done.

Mitchell is absolutely no help at all... :(

Lol, no, but really... There is absolutely NOTHING under linkage... all it has is the title, and then one line under it that says something like "There is no information specified by the manufacturer" :@

Ok... so what do i do... from the diagram, i'm guessing i yank the knob off, boot comes off somehow... The parts i received look like #... 12, 13, 15,16,17.

All the parts arew connected to the selector arm... can i replace them without taking apart the shift arm?

I'm assuming i'll have to drop the driveshaft + exhaust to get at this?

you need number 2 and 7 also to tighten this up.

call patrick @ BMAparts.com

I just got a bunch of stuff for my 5 speed swap myself, came in at 6 pm last night... now just waiting on the rest.

Dealer won't have the part? I know they prolly don't stock it... even though they do stock all the little washers and everything. Are you saying they can't even order it?

they can, but it will probably take them a week or two to get it, might as well get it from patrick if you are going to have to wait around... faster and better pricing.

Theres also Yves. He has helped a few times so I just ask for him every time now.

Nothing against BMA or anything, but sometimes I find that they don't have the lowest price. I've used other vendors that were great as well.

BMA sold me the slave hose for $23 instead of $60+ because azautohaus had it for $23 :)
I've used pelican & turner as well.

Nobody's going to have the absolute cheapest price, every time, on every part, but BMA's well above par in that regard, and they top it off with excellent service. If you REALLY need to save money and shop around, do it, but you're going to be spending more time and effort than the possible dollar or two are worth going with BMA.

Remember i live in Canada... I'll not be getting anything quickly or without duties once it passes the border... I've got a wholesale acct with a dealer, and they deliver free of charge...
