No, you don't need the parcel shelf. You will have to make an incision into your existing shelf for the sun shade.

It mounts to the two hooks, part #7 that you insert into your roof (snaps in place)

Yes, it is manual.

What is the width of the roller and how long does the screen extend?

The roller is about 1 1/2 inches wide and pulls from the rear shelf up to the edge of the headliner
