Ok, I've been shopping non-stop and gathering tons of info on here. As most have pointed out, Depo's are the way to go. In my case, I have to have the Depo Projector46. I found this on Ebay for a REALLY low price. I checked with some buyers of this Ebay product and they stated they are genuine Depo's and everything is in good order, except for the angel eyes - apparently they are dimmer (OEM like??) halogen, and not CCFL.

So, since I'm not made of massive amounts of money, I'm trying to make a determination here of two options I've narrowed down to: Ebay vs Bavtoys

1. Ebay Option (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180188241441&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123)

Price as is: 249.99 + 99.99 shipping
Add 6000k temp $10, and CCFL's (I would have to install them) $65
Total: 424.98

Ebay options but without CCFL's: total $359.98
(could get other angel eye kits for around 99 if these are really bad)

2. Bavtoys - P46 with 6000k Prolumen Digital 35w and Predator angel eyes
Total: 673.99 (PLUS shipping 25.78) = 699.77

That's a $340 difference!!!!! More than enough to purchase a different HID kit if the ones that come with it die in 1-2 years.

So, un-biased opinions please - what should I do??

If I wasn't worried about cash, I'd probably go Bavtoys, but that's like twice the price!!!?

you are comparing ebay products minus an hid kit to ours with an hid kit, if you take out the prolumen kit the price is then $438 plus shipping, with a lifetime warranty on the angel eyes and the best ones on the market at that it should be a no brainer.

there are several options out there besides e-bay. you could try understeer.com or umnitza.com or baytoys etc... e-bay is should not be your first choose for car parts. my 2 cents

Which is why I'm posting this question - I've bought a lot off Ebay with good luck (as long as you do your homework and check out the seller and product)... The ones from Ebay DO come with the full HID kit. They are complete, however, they most likely do NOT come with any type of warranty on the HID (ballast, etc..) or on the angel eyes..

JLevisw has the Umnitza setup, all 6000k (hid and predator chromium) for 686 shipped, understeer list's 490!?? but for some reason I feel I'm missing something from it??

we have the same setup here on a group buy for $650.

you're not missing anything, as in everything and moreso in lighting quality varies greatly, the $650 package includes the best of everything, predator angel eyes and prolumen hid both with a lifetime warranty, both the top of the line.
other cheaper options are available, pm me for details and prices.

That eBay one is a very good price, but who do you go to if you have problems? No name HIDs may or may not last, but in the end, it'll cost you more when any component breaks.

Contact bimmer95 on here, or go to understeer.com and email them with any questions. They are great guys who carry high quality parts, and provide excellent customer service. You wont be disappointed if you go with them.

Trust Habbie...You should have just bought your whole setup from him with pre-installed angel eyes, would have saved you money and again you have a warranty and a trustworthy source. Trust me, it's worth every penny to buy from a trustworthy, warranty backed source.

I believe the OP have made up this mind that he's going to purchase the kit from E-bay.. If that's the case, why bother posting?:confused Unless, he's the one selling the E-bay kit:confused

if he says go with understeer, then that should be good enough. Regardless if he brought from them or not.. It shouldn't concern you Sherlock Holmes..

I'd go with Ebay depos, I've had them for the past year, and they're a great purchase. In terms of HIDS, I have a pair from Apexcone, and they've been exceptional! If I were you, I'd just pick up a pair of depos from ebay (i think his name was M something) and a pair of HIDs from Chris at Understeer, and forget the Angel eyes since they're played out anyway.

I had ebay Depo's on my previous 325is and the DDE's lasted a lot longer than the Umnitza DDE's p36's that I have on my current 328i (2 of 4 have failed during the 2 years I've had the car:shifty). Other than that the lights were exactly the same. I would definitely try the ebay ones, the service I got from habbie/umnitza is on par with ebay sellers or worse so I would recommend the better priced lights.

Hi. :wave

Thanks for adding to a thread that ended a while ago and adding nothing productive to it.

It's been a while.

Please don't come again.
