I was told I don't have it in my ride. What do I need to hook it up in my 530I( i.e. part #'s etc).

you might have to buy tcu and have it retro fit-it depends on your year built

I just bought an 04 530i with nav. My sales rep said it could not be added. The closing sales mgr said the same.... the tech that delivered the car to me looked up the serial # and said it just needed a software upgrade..... $270 later I have bluetooth.... I have been unhappy with the quality of the call. The other party has trouble understanding what I say... I can hear them fine. After more research I have found that there is a upgraded mic avail from BMW for $55. I have not got the part yet.... will report my findings.

I installed the new mic BMW Microphone Part number 84 31 6 938 762. It works great! The sound quality is much better.

ok so 04's originally they gave us the option to perform a software update and give the car bluetooth, however it was crashing out TCU's which are like a G-note and so BMW said no more and now you must buy a bluetooth TCU.

Has BMW stopped doing the software upgrade and bluetooth retrofit. I know there was a SIB issued on this, as I had my 04 retrofitted while the software was being upgraded for some warranty issues.

The original SIB on this was SI B84 13 04. Has there been a new SIB issued the in effect recinds this one?

What does all this cost for 5's not equipped with bluetooth?

1BimmerBum is right. what is the production date and options of your car. It may not be possible if you don't have the correct options....
