So i read a couple of threads that state that when you install a led turn signal youll need to attach a resistor onto it so that the car thinks it is the original bulb in there and the signal wont blink crazy fast ricer style. what i havnt read was what kind of resistor you need and how to fasten it on. anyone have this info? thanks

6 Ohm / 50 watt resistors for the front or rear turn signals.

25 Ohm / 25 watt resistors for the side markers.

Each signal requires one resistor wired in. The resistors can get VERY hot (> 180 F) so mount them away from items that do not enjoy heat.

any alternatives to this? e.g. any bulbs that don't cause a fault code or the super flast blink?

also how would i mount these resistors, im assuming one end to each of the nipples on the bulb stem.

None that I know of currently.

One wire clips to ground (I believe) and the other is inline with the particular bulb, which is generally one of the signal lights/flashers.

Slight threadjack, but how would I go about installing an LED third brake light?

this is also a real good question.

In my experience. There is no need for the sidemarker resistor. Why you must ask?, it is because it does not make any difference with or without it. It will not make it flash like a ricer. Only the front and back are hooked so if the original bulb burns out, it flashes fast but never the sidemarker.

this is also a real good question.

Imo it would looker dorky if you didnt have a couple rows of leds in the 3rd light, a computer circuit board with the bulbs in place has to be made. good place to look is hidplanet.com or .net i dont remeber the last part of the html address.
