has anyone delt with this...in the last 4 months i have had to have my 2003 745li towed into the dealership..ok here goes, i will try my best to describe
i will go to unlock car, driver side opens....after that there is no more key functions(cannot unlock.lock rest of doors, r open remote trunk)
when i try to put key into car, key will not lock and slides back out, in message center shows a car on lift in red, says something like"starter,keep engine running" then alternates to a yellow colored warning that states, trans. in nuetral only"
bottom line car will not start..brought it in the first time and it was left overnight at dealership...after they looked over the car, they stated the car started without problem and there was no record in the cpu about a problem, malfunction...gave me the car back and didnt fix anything..
several months later same problem, had it towed and made the SA walk out and see the problem so it wouldnt just majically clear...
they replaced the key fob cradle and gave me new keys and said something about bad contacts...could this problem be anything else?
if its the cradle then way is it that i cannot unlock rest of doors or remote trunk?

p.s - all of you guys and gals are a lifesaver

The best thing you can do is trade in that lemon for a '04 or newer.

Do you have any other keys? If so, have you tried them?
