They are big, but not that big. They aren't open on Sundays. During the week they are open from like 7am to 8 or 9pm, but that's it. They have Saturday hours too, but I don't think it's all day. You'll have to call them tomorrow. I know this because they are about 10 minutes from my house.

They have warehouses in South Bend, IN, and two other locations - one east and one west. However, ALL calls are processed in South Bend where the second floor of their corporate headquarters is nothing but a field of cubicles with people manning phones over two shifts. You'll be calling South Bend, but your tires will ship from the east coast warehouse. I'm almost positive that's how they work.

Define "better".
Tirerack has been in business for a long time. The few times I bought tires from them, they were promptly delivered without issues. I have heard few complaints from posters on a few car forums. Most are satisfied with Tirerack. (I have no affiliation with Tirerack.)
Having said that, there are tires that Tirerack doesn't carry and you have to find them elsewhere. My favorite is the Nokian WR that I have put on my Subaru. Tirerack also doesn't carry Falken.
