hey guys have posted here in a while but w.e my dad was wonder how much his 83 633csi (manual) would be worth if he sold it (in Canada), the car is mostly in peice including (interior/exterior, exhaust) the car was painted just to cover up the bare metal and has NO RUST the engine was also completely rebuilt. We have all the parts and i mean all the parts brand new. So how much do you think he could get for it apart (or piecing it out) versus together and painted.

Think of it this way: How much would you pay for a dissasembled car with a quickie paint job that has to be hauled away on a trailer with a truck load of parts? How much does the average running 633 sell for? Remember, yours may end up being much nicer but right now to a buyer it does not run and needs everything. It is not uncommon to find them from a couple hundred to several thousand. My thoughts are either fix it and keep it or sell it part by part.

You'd make more money parting it out. Cars in buckets do not sell well. I'm thinking you'd get way under $1000.

so how much would it be worth assembled?

the problem with a 83 633 is that it will always be worth less than a 635, i had a 83 and had a hard time selling it a few years ago in socal, mine was in really good shape but with decent 635's starting at 3000 most people just buy those, i learned my lesson and probably would never buy a 633 again unless it was a real bargain, i think 2500 is about all u can get and u will spend more than that restoring it.

one thing people dont understand about the 633 is that it has a lighter flywheel, and basically the same hp as a 635 from 84 to 87. The torque is really the only difference (stock vs stock). So a well rebuilt B32 is a great motor, with a 5spd, even more fun, and there are less 633's to go around than 635's.

It can be argued either way how desirable a 633 is vs a 635, but its basically the same if either are disassembled...not very. Shoot some photos of the car as it sits, and some other things that would be done if it was assembled. I would think that you could fetch anywhere between 2k to 4k. If you do the work yourself, and have the tools, all the better. 4k would be finding the right buyer, and doing a top-notch job of putting the car back together. 2k would be putting it together well, and selling it quick.

the motor has 4k in it alone, so unless my dad can get 8-10k+ he'll prob keep it

safe to say he will be keeping it for a long time at that price, ive never seen a 633 any where near that price, right now there are several 635's on los angeles craigslist in nice shape for less than 5000, there just isnt a desire for 633's unless there less than 3000, most people want the front spoiler which cost a fortune, they want abs which is only available on the 635. so u might as well pay a little more and get the 635, very hard to find a 633 in decent shape to begin with and for 10000 u can get a euro with the bigger engine

+1, 8-10k is m6 territory around here. maybe 8-1000 is more realistic. mine had 84k original miles, 5spd, perfect red leather, perfect everything!! this car was a fu**ing time capsul, and it sold for $3500 :(. worst mistake i've ever made. tell him to put it in a garage for the next 30 years... then he may get $6000 for it. gl

I bought an '83 633 about a month ago for $725. Mechanically it is in excellent shape. Has a few creases on the passenger side and a door the wrong color. Front seats are totally crapped out. Don't have much time to work on it though. I would sell it for a quick $1000. Georgia car.

Georgia meaning rust free i hope. Sounds like a good candidate for a race car!!!

I sold my last 633 for $4500 with worn out suspension, rusty front fender, steel wheels, bad clearcoat and a few other issues as well. It all depends on the market. In BC, there are several nice E24's around, for fair money, but I sold mine to a guy in Alberta. Not very many decent E24's in Alberta, so he was happy to have an overall good car, for less than the average E36. In all fairness, the car had E32 brakes, new control arms, subframe mounts, pitman arms, tie rods, etc. Had been fully tuned up, ran great, etc. When I was selling it, it had Koni/Eibach suspension, but he bargained the price down, and had me install the original parts in their place.

I noticed the OP is in Fort Erie, Ontario. I was recently back home in Toronto, and didn't see a single E24 around. Many of my old friends back home were amazed that I owned one. Most commented that it had been years since they saw an E24 on the road. Based on that, if you put the car together nicely, sort it out, I bet you'll get $6-8k in Toronto.
