today at 15 minutes to 8:00am on the way to work. Silly lexus LSxxx SUV driver in the leftmost lane guns it and changes lanes in front of me to get the preferred line into the cloverleaf at work. He pulls 10 car lengths on me while I'm calmly (and legally) going slowly through the gears. Have people no respect? These people don't seem to realize that there are only so many places on public roads you can bend the springs on a BMW (and the Compaq cloverleaf is one of these). I realize the pending frustration of following a SUV through the cloverleaf and floor it. The look on this jackass's face as I blow past him into the cloverleaf is priceless. It is fun to dangle the carrot and then take it away.
I'm sure I'll have another cloverleaf story by next week.

Rob, I agree, damn the SUV's in the fast lane that think they're all that!..... I used to own a truck, and with the truck I would always get out of the way for anyone cause I knew the truck had crappy handling. I've been in fast cars, but its pretty phenominal how much better handling most cars had over the truck. On my way to work there is a nice right hand sweeper leading into a tunnel (for those around here, north on 99 Alaskan Way Viaduct), and with the truck with my little skinny tires I pretty much got out of the way of anyone. With the M, I can take that turn at crazy speeds....its great to feel the whole car drifting outwards through the turn, yet still feel in control, but until you see how fast this is, SUV drivers do not know. It seems most SUV drivers think that the "limit" of their trucks are the limit of all vehicles and dont realize what a car like this can do. I think, that they think, that they are at the edge, so we must be at the edge too.......uh, no!!!.... and yeah, it is great to see their expression as you make their tank look like its completely standing still......
it's good to know I'm not the only one addicted to cloverleafs.
