View Full Version : M6 for sale in Tucson TheNeek 11-29-2007, 11:02 AM looks to be a good deal. Just a friendly FYI: http://tucson.craigslist.org/car/489398491.html skyflyer 11-29-2007, 11:08 AM looks to be a good deal. Just a friendly FYI: http://tucson.craigslist.org/car/489398491.html It is. Wow, M6 for that much, not sure if we can get one near the same price in here. Wish the car was in Sydney :( Love the M6 air dam. blitzed310 11-29-2007, 11:09 AM Whoa, my dad would probably go up there and buy that. dhm118 11-29-2007, 11:28 AM SCAM Who would be dumb enough to let such a car go for $6900? Also, look at his grammar...the whole ad is in one sentence. dhm118 11-29-2007, 11:41 AM NADA value: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e71/dhm118/85m6pricing.jpg blitzed310 11-29-2007, 11:47 AM SCAM Who would be dumb enough to let such a car go for $6900? I wanted to have a glimmer of hope, but its over now. dhm118 11-29-2007, 11:53 AM lol sry Layne 11-29-2007, 12:26 PM Its not a scam (I don't think). That guy posts on the 6 series forum all the time and if you look the car has been advertised over there for a while at slowly declining prices. Its a horrible time to sell a car. I bought the same car in red, needing less work last weekend for $7500. blitzed310 11-29-2007, 12:32 PM Its not a scam (I don't think). I bought the same car in red, needing less work last weekend for $7500. You're a very lucky man. How many miles in the car? Please someone grabs that black E24, but it all comes down to the condition of the car and motor for such a price afterall. TheNeek 11-29-2007, 01:41 PM I actually think I know the guy. It really looks like a dude that works in the building next to me. I see a black 6 all the time over there. I met him at a local Euro meet here in tucson. Nice car. I wonder if Steph would let me add to the collection. jimdemonic 11-29-2007, 04:28 PM Go for it! I had one then a tree fell on it. It was a 88. fast and 83,000.00 on it. it wasn't even broken in yet. sob. dhm118 11-29-2007, 04:36 PM man if this isnt a scam, thats a steal Layne 11-29-2007, 05:42 PM You're a very lucky man. How many miles in the car? 140k on mine. CA car since new until 2 months ago, so absolutly rust free. Could be in mint condition with a minimum of work, so yeah I'm lucky. And it is the insanest thing I've ever driven, the power is unbelievable. uberpanzer 11-29-2007, 07:55 PM Someone please remind me that a S38/M88 motor is not a daily-driver friendly motor....please.... 3BMW3 11-29-2007, 08:01 PM I don't think that's a scam. That's a non-US version, grey market car (the M6 was not officially imported into the US until 1986), that needs paint and interior work. And probably more. It is likely not smog legal in many states, including the biggest BMW state (California). It also doesn't say how many miles are on it, but as a grey market car, it likely does not have the original odometer anyways, to it is likely True Mileage Unknown. $6500, plus a good paint job, and interior work, and you are well over $10,000, and you still are left with a grey market M6 that has apparently lead a relatively rough life (bad paint and bad interior). fullswing 11-29-2007, 11:36 PM 140k on mine. The only late model car I've sold and regretted later was my '88 m5. They'll last a couple hundred thousand miles if properly cared for, just like any BMW engine. BTW, the m635 is the predecessor (gray market only) to the m6 and were slightly different. ken Layne 11-30-2007, 01:55 AM update your 'cars' profile dammit :) Done! My car is California legal so it's not impossible. The speedometers where changed before they ever touched the road so the mileage is accurate unless it happened to be changed again (that can happen with any car). I think thats a great deal, any 20+ year old car is going to need work. Any car that is incredibly sexy and really fast and only 5,855 ever made is destined to go up in value. Just maintain it well (be prepared to spend the cash to do so) and don't put a bunch of ricer mods on it. uberpanzer 11-30-2007, 04:08 AM That's what I mean by not daily driveable. The M42 is daily driveable. You change your oil, oil filter, coolant now and then, timing chain tensioner, plugs and wires, and that's it. Self adjusting everything else. The S38? Solid lifter are great for a race motor, but valve adjustments are not cheap (unless you have the kit, and I don't). Not to mention I can't work on things in my garage now (damn condo). I have an e30 M3 that still has the S14 under the hood. And THAT is not daily drivable in my mind. Great power from the S motors though, don't get me wrong. I just don't think that would suite me as a daily driver. ///M3Vader4dr 11-30-2007, 04:13 AM looks to be a good deal. Just a friendly FYI: http://tucson.craigslist.org/car/489398491.html :eyecrazy Layne 11-30-2007, 11:07 AM It suits me fine for a daily driver. If I wear it out I'll rebuild it, there's no shortage of parts. Nice sig Jamie, but if you were the girl in your avatar no one would be interested in your leg! mxl556 11-30-2007, 05:12 PM There is nothing worse than the M car which was not maintained properly and bad paint and interior is an indicator of the owner who doesn't care. $6500 for an M635 is the same as $6500 for an E30 M3 or $500 for an e21. The difference is that restoring or fixing an e21, e30 or even e34 is way easier and cheaper than e24 M635 or e34 M5. I'd rather pay $15K for a good car than $6500 for a pos which needs $5000 paint, $2000 interior and $12000 motor, not mentioning the details like Getrag 280 which is not cheap either. M car on a budget is not a good idea IMO. Max here you mean a regular e30 right? an e30 m3 is a very expensive car to own busemans 12-01-2007, 12:26 AM oh man, i just noticed that you have a karmann ghia. can you make a thread and post pics or email me some pics? i had a 71 kg and a 71 autostick kg. i had the 71 for 10 years and regret selling it daily Layne 12-01-2007, 12:40 AM There's a red KG for sale down the street from me. I'll get a number if you are really interested. busemans 12-01-2007, 12:44 AM where are you at? if its more then 1200 bucks then i'm not interested. i like to mess with them more then buy them fixed up. busemans 12-01-2007, 12:44 AM and i'm only so so interested as i have the e21 to play with for a while. DrewDude320i 12-01-2007, 04:29 AM figured out why that car's so cheap. It failed carfax horribly. hasn't been able to pass emissions for a while, and it's in dire need of repair. Layne 12-01-2007, 08:03 AM where are you at? if its more then 1200 bucks then i'm not interested. i like to mess with them more then buy them fixed up. The car looks really sharp so I doubut its less than 1200. Do they do emmisions in Tucson? Looking through my records, everytime my M6 failed emmisions, an AFM adjustment got it to pass.
