View Full Version : e36 318 lsd Hathaway 11-26-2007, 12:37 PM sold! wulfgang 11-26-2007, 01:36 PM Can you take pics, with at least one shot of the tag that shows it is LSD? Also, where are you located? One more thing... would you happen to have the driveshaft from the same car? Hathaway 11-26-2007, 01:43 PM PM'ed Pics to come. Danny318 11-29-2007, 06:57 PM Any chance you want to break the dif open and just sell me the LS unit? Danny318 11-29-2007, 06:57 PM and, is the limited slip still any good? Hathaway 11-30-2007, 10:55 AM I would rather not take the diff apart, but for $300 shipped Id be willing to. As far as I know the LS is still good. I only drove the car that it was in <1 mile before I pulled the tranny, and I didnt even know it had a LSD at the time. But with the car in gear and the rear end off the ground I cant turn the tire more than half an inch, which tells me the clutches in it are still good. I was gonna put it in my car untill I realized I would need to swap the halfshafts and who knows what else to get it into my 325, and I didnt want to deal with that hassle. fishin59541 12-01-2007, 11:09 AM I'm interested...pix? Thanks fishin59541 12-03-2007, 11:22 PM I'm very interested in your diff. Please contact me ASAP! sail59541<@>comcast.net Thanks! Hathaway 12-04-2007, 09:19 AM My dad is supposed to be taking pics of it for me today, so hopefully I can have them posted tonight or tomorrow morning, but who knows.... I do know it seemed to have a leak around the drivesahft input flange, so it probably needs a seal kit, or just to be topped off every couple weeks. EdirtySicks 12-06-2007, 05:55 PM interested...will this fit a 95 m3? Hathaway 12-07-2007, 09:24 AM Yes it will "fit", but it is not a direct bolt in. To put it in an M3 you would need the drive-shaft and half-shafts as well. Hathaway 12-17-2007, 10:40 AM Bump for pics. ducky328i 12-21-2007, 09:45 PM what needs to be changed halfshaft wise for this to fit a 328?? Hathaway 12-27-2007, 10:15 AM The diff in the 318 is narrower and shorter than the diffs out of the 6-cyl e36s. So the 318s use a longer driveshaft and longer halfshafts than the rest of the e36s. You will need the the driveshaft and halfshafts out of a 318 to make it fit. Hathaway 12-28-2007, 11:08 AM Bump for lower price. Teddy G 01-30-2008, 04:58 AM Couldn't tell from thread if this sold or not. Still have the diff? Teddy Hathaway 01-30-2008, 12:14 PM Still available jeff318 02-01-2008, 07:03 PM it was off a auto? Hathaway 02-03-2008, 09:50 PM Manual transmission, but it should work with an auto. Not with a 318ti though. Snizare 02-06-2008, 09:22 PM might be a noob question....could this work on an auto 318? I realize it would kill off the line acceleration (which is already a joke in the 1.8) Hathaway 02-06-2008, 10:27 PM Not really sure what the gearing of the auto 318 is. But if they came with a 3.91 diff (same as 325 gearing) then yes, it would kill acceleration. |
