hi. i have just bought a peake tester. i have a 1998 328 and it gave the code 44 in table 11. it says 'EVAP system, purge control valve ckt.' what does this mean? cheers

either the valve has packed up, or there may a foreign body in there. the resistance of the valve is 33-55 ohms, and its shown as #1 here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BG12&mospid=47431&btnr=13_0372&hg=13&fg=15 . Check your pipes for any leaks, splits also.
