.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............
alright guys
The last meet we had in york was started at the staples parking lot and ended in the lobby of CBRD speedfactory talking about how slow our cars were :(.
I wanted to open a new thread to figure out what to do and when to meet. I want to get more people to this one so im opening it up a lil early this time so we have more time to plan for it. i think the reason the last one wasnt "popular" was because it was on such short notice.
So....
Should we stick to keeping a meet on a saturday or is there a more convenient time for everyone? Ill leave it at that to wait for others input to when and where we should meet. I think we should have a meet a lil before christmas. Keep it within the next month. I cannot do it the 14th but any other weekend is good for me.
let me know guys!! :buttrock
danimalvr6 11-25-2007, 12:01 PM im more of a vw person, so i dont frequent these forums as much as others, but im going to watch this, as im only 20-30 minutes away, and i havent met too may other bmw people.
MTHRAR 11-26-2007, 12:49 AM I'd be down again as long as its not too cold and its not snowing...Plus I want to show off my hawt new AEs and HIDs
digitalcox 11-26-2007, 08:37 AM I am down for it again. My buddy just picked up a '96 M and already said he is interested in coming out too.
Saturday's work except for the 15th. Company holiday party is on that day.
DrivinCrazE 11-26-2007, 11:55 AM down again as well. I think a Corrado would be a nice addition to the meet as well. Would we want to open this to other german cars?
mmmcookies... 11-26-2007, 10:09 PM I'd be down again as long as its not too cold and its not snowing...Plus I want to show off my hawt new AEs and HIDs
:buttrock
Harrisburg vw guy, def. cool if you come out! more the merrier( or however you spell that:rolleyes)
mmmcookies... 11-26-2007, 10:10 PM down again as well. I think a Corrado would be a nice addition to the meet as well. Would we want to open this to other german cars?

alpine325 11-27-2007, 02:16 AM alright guys

let me know guys!! :buttrockNormally a 3-6 month notice normally will bring more people. I was thinking of coming to this if you didn't mind but I live a distance away near Pottsville. Such a short notice though plus this is the first time I came on this one. Maybe in the spring time if you guys will do it again maybe I'll be driving my other car :(. Currently driving a 86 es I want to drive my 87 4-door 325.
mmmcookies... 11-27-2007, 10:10 AM alright I was thinking either the weekend before... or the weekend after christmas week so either 12/22.07 or 1/6/08 (both saturdays) let me know guys :)
digitalcox 11-27-2007, 10:40 AM I like the 12/22.
Also, I think the 5th is actually a saturday in January.
-Justin
DrivinCrazE 11-27-2007, 05:01 PM I can do 12/22 not 1/6 though.
mmmcookies... 11-27-2007, 06:58 PM alright well then how about we shoot for the 22nd of december then! lets start discussing where to meet at first off :)
alpine325 11-27-2007, 11:30 PM Is there normally a big bmw crowd from pa? How close is maple grove raceway to york its not to far from there I kinda forget and I don't feel like looking at a map. Also I think I'll have the sh-tiest car there.
digitalcox 11-28-2007, 08:26 AM Is there normally a big bmw crowd from pa? How close is maple grove raceway to york its not to far from there I kinda forget and I don't feel like looking at a map. Also I think I'll have the sh-tiest car there.
From York to Maple Grove it is only about an hour trip.
We could always meet up again at that Staples parking lot, but this time park closer to builder's square so that we are out of other cars making their way through.
mmmcookies... 11-28-2007, 10:12 AM ^^ good point and yeah staples wouldnt be bad to meet up again i guess. Just if we get more people this time will it fit em all?
medik212 11-28-2007, 10:36 AM count me in for the 22nd... i'll be in town and expect to have a whole lot of nothin going on
WickkedM3 11-28-2007, 12:24 PM Count me in. When i had a vw we used to meet in the Sam's club parking lot. It's huge and they close kinda early so that's a possible place...that's if the cops don't kick us out.
mmmcookies... 11-28-2007, 01:00 PM thanks for the suggestion^^ lets keep sams club in mind in case staples is too small for us
digitalcox 11-28-2007, 02:39 PM ^^ good point and yeah staples wouldnt be bad to meet up again i guess. Just if we get more people this time will it fit em all?
It should fit. Instead of going left towards Staples and Excitement, just turn right instead and park toward Builders Square. There's usually not a lot of cars parked and it keeps everyone away from the traffic.
Sams Club is a good choice too, their back lot is huuuuge and it is away from getting anyone angry.
mmmcookies... 11-28-2007, 03:13 PM both good places :) . Alright as for an agenda what do people have in mind to want to do while in the beautiful city of york(:rolleyes) ? any suggestions? I ask everyone to bring a camera or camcorder if ya got it! I want good pics :)
MTHRAR 11-28-2007, 07:50 PM down again as well. I think a Corrado would be a nice addition to the meet as well. Would we want to open this to other german cars?
My friend owns a 2000 Jetta that is pretty Clean, has a few small problems, but is nice. The only thing is he took his nice chrome wheels off and has no hub caps on his wheels now so it looks pretty crappy...although he is getting a new car soon and I test drove a 99 M3 for him the other day:buttrock:buttrock:buttrock cause he is still learning to drive stick, too bad the M3 wasn't in great condition for the price...I just told him to pass on it.
Was wondering if I should invite him???
WickkedM3 11-28-2007, 07:53 PM I test drove a 99 M3 for him the other day cause he is still learning to drive stick, too bad the M3 wasn't in great condition for the price...I just told him to pass on it.
Where was this M3 at that you test drove?
mmmcookies... 11-28-2007, 08:17 PM My friend owns a 2000 Jetta that is pretty Clean, has a few small problems, but is nice. sure bud! more the merrier
325ISE30 11-28-2007, 09:56 PM I'd be in as long as it's not snowing.
carpediem 11-29-2007, 01:49 AM I'd be in, but I work every Saturday 12-8:30. If they say I don't need to come in then I'm down.
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 10:16 AM I'd be in as long as it's not snowing.
I hope you didnt jinx us :(
digitalcox 11-29-2007, 10:42 AM both good places :) . Alright as for an agenda what do people have in mind to want to do while in the beautiful city of york(:rolleyes) ? any suggestions?
Eating food like last time. Maybe there is a nice restaurant a bit away from where we would meet at so we can make a little cruise out of it too.
If everyone was willing to drive to Harrisburg, they have that arcade / restauarant / bar place that would be awesome to go to, but i'm not sure when that opens up during the weekends.
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 12:59 PM oooh... well have to look into that asap. I love the cruising idea as well!! :buttrock. Ill start looking at places to cruise to or "map" it out so we get some backroad drivin in as well :)
dp2275 11-29-2007, 05:47 PM ill show up if its not snowing/raining/below 30-40*F
ive got a big turbo & big cam so she doesnt like the cold or wet pavement too much! i could probably bring two friends if i do come (e36 and mk3 gti).
dp2275 11-29-2007, 05:54 PM also, if someone plans a drive try to keep it out of the city. its a little hard to drive my 6-puck and sachs race pp in stop and go traffic (2.79 rear means at idle im moving like 15mph in 1st gear..makes for some interesting starts)
*how many posts to i need to make before i can post daggum smilies?
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 08:17 PM ^^^^ FUC*ING GLENROCK???????????? where the **** are you??????? Im like 3 minutes from glenrock exit..... seriously? lol
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 08:17 PM oh and you can post smilies right away i thought.... or 20 posts one or the other
dp2275 11-29-2007, 08:44 PM ^^^^ FUC*ING GLENROCK???????????? where the **** are you??????? Im like 3 minutes from glenrock exit..... seriously? lol
im on the other side of glenrock..its actually "glenville" which is a few miles past the 216/516 intersection at stix. not really "in" glenrock, probably about 15 minutes outside of it. i pretty much live directly in the center of jefferson, glenrock, hanover, and manchester which puts me about 15 minutes from the closest town in any direction lol.
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 08:51 PM alright how far from jefferson "circle" are ya?
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 08:53 PM Oh and.... FOR EVERYONE!!! how about outback steakhouse in harrisburg? not too expensive but good tasting. I mapped it out from staples and if we take the highway its 36 minutes or if we take the backroads..... an hour and 6 minutes :dunno: ... well I know which one i would pick.. but lol let me know guys!!!!
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 08:55 PM also If we take the backroad we go right through gifford state park with alot of photography potenial :)
dp2275 11-29-2007, 09:02 PM im about 2 miles past the lake (codorus) off of 216. id say its about 5-8 miles from the jefferson circle.
just a FYI, i dont know if itd be a good idea to try to get through harrisburg on the weekend. traffic is ****ing rediculous (i go through there every friday on the way home from school and its bumper to bumper). im sure itll be worse since its close to holiday time!!
BMW///M3sdn 11-29-2007, 09:34 PM Theres an outback ten minutes from staples right on market street in york. Might be a little closer, unless everyones looking for a drive.
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 10:22 PM well I think a drive is what everyone is going for... like a lil cruisin:) so lets scratch outback , ill find another restraunt away from harrisburg
mmmcookies... 11-29-2007, 10:55 PM alright, What about drivin down through hanover ( nice backroads there) and heading down to say a buffet place? so theres a lil somthing for everone? just throwing ideas out!! need some other peoples input though. what do people want?
325ISE30 11-29-2007, 11:28 PM Harrisburg traffic isn't bad at all on weekends. I drive from the Hershey area into Harrisburg for work and the only time traffic is bad is Friday nights. There would be no problems on a Saturday, highway or back roads.
DrivinCrazE 11-30-2007, 09:53 AM we need someplace with a good atmosphere and with an open stretch of hwy to get there so we can hit 120mph+ :redspot
mmmcookies... 11-30-2007, 10:05 AM lol^^
mmmcookies... 11-30-2007, 10:07 AM alright well harrisburg or hanover?both are about the same distances. I think the buffet idea should stay as well because that will def. fill everyone up and theres usually alot of table space for a big group of people.
mmmcookies... 11-30-2007, 10:13 AM alright so theres possibly
1. (me) mmmcookies... going
2. digitalcox... going
3. drivincraze... going
4. dp2275... going
5. carpediem... possible(depending on work schedule)
6. 325ISE30...( as long as he didnt jinx us with snow:( )
7. MTHRAR... going (with friend possible)
8. danimalvr6(possible)
9. medik212...going
10. wickedM3... going
11. I might have some friends down as well( jhstealth and our buddy derek)
already better then last time woot!! lets get more people :)
BMW///M3sdn 11-30-2007, 07:01 PM You can count me in i guess, i wont have anything better to do on a saturday afternoon.
carpediem 11-30-2007, 08:18 PM When are you guys planning on having the meet? And also what all is going to go on? Like a drive and eating type of thing.
mmmcookies... 11-30-2007, 10:38 PM im gonna say be there by 1 oclock at the latest :)
MTHRAR 12-01-2007, 12:01 AM Yeah I'd be down for Hanover too, there are some nice stretches between lights especially on Eisenhower, plus there are tons of ricers out there to pick on
DrivinCrazE 12-01-2007, 11:44 AM Yeah I'd be down for Hanover too, there are some nice stretches between lights especially on Eisenhower, plus there are tons of ricers out there to pick on
I like that.....
digitalcox 12-01-2007, 12:06 PM Sounds like a plan. I'm still in if the weather doesn't turn out to be crappy.
mmmcookies... 12-01-2007, 02:57 PM yo^^ off topic wanna take pics today? its still pretty nice out
danimalvr6 12-01-2007, 05:59 PM i personally like harrisburg... but hey thats just me. time and date? idk im up for a drive
MTHRAR 12-01-2007, 10:35 PM So we need to make an official date and time....I cannot do it the weekend of the 14th either as I'm going to Richmond, Va....Cookies you think we should do it sooner than later or wait till later to get a better turnout, say like the 22nd of December. The only thing about that is a lot of people could be visiting family out of state so...................................
I am just throwing it out there
mmmcookies... 12-02-2007, 01:34 AM OK offical time and date will be ***DECEMBER 22ND AT 12:30 PM***
our agenda will follow like this,
-Meet at 12:30 at staples parking lot off of rt. 30 in york.
-Around 1:00 to 1:15 we will head out to ryan's in hanover for food.

If anyone has another suggestion or advice on what they would want to do please speak up!! more input the better.
DrivinCrazE 12-02-2007, 11:54 AM sounds good
danimalvr6 12-02-2007, 10:16 PM im almost positive i can make that. should be fun
mmmcookies... 12-03-2007, 10:14 AM good good :) glad to hear it guys!!
digitalcox 12-03-2007, 03:49 PM I'm still down for it. Sounds like it will be fun. If the weather is really crappy, i'll still go out to hang out, just be driving the jeep instead or ride with a friend since the car is currently hibernating under a car cover.
-Justin
Krista M3 12-03-2007, 04:42 PM im up for any and all local meets! especially since its almost winter
Bsaint 12-03-2007, 08:15 PM might be there as long as weather is alright and not to much salt on the roads.
digitalcox 12-04-2007, 10:23 AM Knowing this is probably too late to change plans, this should be our game plan for the next York meet.
http://www.lehighvalleygrandprix.com/home.htm
It would be a bit of a hike but it seems like it would be a fun time.
mmmcookies... 12-04-2007, 03:14 PM 22 dollars a race isnt bad either. How about after the holidays so people have money and time to do it. Love the idea though!!! How about we shoot for feburary 3rd for the next meet. We can either meet at staples ( like usual) or meet at the track. what does everyone think? we can discuss it at the next meet on the 22nd. sounds like a plan though justin!!
carpediem 12-04-2007, 03:17 PM If I don't make this meet then I will definately go to the next one. I would just take off, but I just started this job.
alpine325 12-05-2007, 04:46 AM I am not sure if I am able to make it yet. This car I have has a 4.10 and its a auto really bad gas mileage all I know it eats more gas then either one of my 87's. Plus I would be coming from sorta Pottsville, Pa its a hike to york. But see the LehighValley meet that you guys are talking about for the next meet is just over the Blue Mountain well sorta. I really want to come to the York meet but only time will tell if I can or not. I might just swap this rear out for different gearing but that sucks and its so damn cold out.
MTHRAR 12-05-2007, 07:28 PM Where was this M3 at that you test drove?
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I must not have seen this post, but anyway it was at a small used dealership that has mostly VWs in York...not sure what the place was called, but it was a 99 Silver M3 and had many things wrong with it: Suspension sucked (Probs needed everything shocks and struts, bushings all over), Clutch was shot, it was hard as hell to shift, missing cosmetics like fog deletes that looked terrible and missing pieces all over...the only thing good about it was the dinan intake which sounded good, other than that it had 90K+ miles on it might have been 98k, not sure, but they wanted 15k for it, I told my friend that thing might be worth 8k. Also it needed an cooling overhaul....so needless to say I told him to pass
medik212 12-05-2007, 08:40 PM Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I must not have seen this post, but anyway it was at a small used dealership that has mostly VWs in York...not sure what the place was called, but it was a 99 Silver M3 and had many things wrong with it: Suspension sucked (Probs needed everything shocks and struts, bushings all over), Clutch was shot, it was hard as hell to shift, missing cosmetics like fog deletes that looked terrible and missing pieces all over...the only thing good about it was the dinan intake which sounded good, other than that it had 90K+ miles on it might have been 98k, not sure, but they wanted 15k for it, I told my friend that thing might be worth 8k. was this at the dealer on the corner of Bannister and Taxville? I saw that M in there and was curious what they wanted. Sounds about right for that place... their vw mechanic is a shyster and their cars are overpriced.
mmmcookies... 12-06-2007, 12:58 PM I am not sure if I am able to make it yet. This car I have has a 4.10 and its a auto really bad gas mileage all I know it eats more gas then either one of my 87's. if ya can make it great! but if not dont hurt your car trying:) there will be one in feburary so look forward to that!!
also just checkin in on everyone!! I see we have a few more people now woot!
mmmcookies... 12-07-2007, 12:37 PM 21 people so far( woot!) includin' myself. does anyone know if ryans has cookies??? im gonna want some
Steve H 12-07-2007, 02:26 PM How Far is York from South Jersey. I live like 3 mins from the Delaware Mem Bridge(I95). Might have to come check you guys out..

SQBMW 12-07-2007, 03:59 PM How Far is York from South Jersey. I live like 3 mins from the Delaware Mem Bridge(I95). Might have to come check you guys out..

Bob
mmmcookies... 12-07-2007, 05:44 PM woo more peeps :)
jhstealth 12-08-2007, 12:45 PM Knowing this is probably too late to change plans, this should be our game plan for the next York meet.
http://www.lehighvalleygrandprix.com/home.htm
It would be a bit of a hike but it seems like it would be a fun time.
That place would be sweet for a meet. I go there every weekend and if your going more then once its actually cheap cuz i live by there and a member ship is 30 and u get to race that day you get a free race on your birthday and all races are 15 dollars with school id and 18 with just the membership so you save 4 dollars every time. But its definatly a great place. But yea i should probably be able to make it down ill let you know for sure. How long did it take you to get here from york?
mmmcookies... 12-08-2007, 07:40 PM took me about an hour and 20 minutes to get from my house( which is further down then york) to dereks house.
dp2275 12-10-2007, 04:53 PM so i had to send my new damn turbo out because of a bearing issue (turbo has less than 2hrs on it). right now its a tossup whether ill have it back in time to make the meet.
mmmcookies... 12-11-2007, 10:14 AM if you still wanna come up and chill Im sure somone could pick you up or even myself could come get ya. let us know bud
dp2275 12-11-2007, 11:18 AM if you still wanna come up and chill Im sure somone could pick you up or even myself could come get ya. let us know bud
thanks for the offer, i might just do that if i cant drive up.
just got an email this morning from bullseye saying the turbo should be back in the mail today! those guys sure are wonderful!!!
i have finals up here in williamsport until next tuesday, so that leaves me three days to get the turbo back on. i need to do a bit of tuning since i just degreed my ppf camshaft (andreas said i should see better idle, quicker spool, and lots more top end power-YAY). as long as the weather holds out towards the end of next week i should be able to make it!
WickkedM3 12-11-2007, 08:12 PM Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I must not have seen this post, but anyway it was at a small used dealership that has mostly VWs in York...not sure what the place was called, but it was a 99 Silver M3 and had many things wrong with it: Suspension sucked (Probs needed everything shocks and struts, bushings all over), Clutch was shot, it was hard as hell to shift, missing cosmetics like fog deletes that looked terrible and missing pieces all over...the only thing good about it was the dinan intake which sounded good, other than that it had 90K+ miles on it might have been 98k, not sure, but they wanted 15k for it, I told my friend that thing might be worth 8k. Yeah, I looked at that one and thought it was way overpriced. I also would not ever buy a car from that dealership (won't mention the name) because I've heard of so many shotty jobs they have done on cars, some being close friends of mine.

jhower08 12-15-2007, 03:01 PM Im most likely down depending on weather like everyone else. I could probably get another bmw or two to come up as well.
MTHRAR 12-15-2007, 07:41 PM I'll be there depending on weather of course, there is no way in hell I am driving it if it is snowing, freezing rain, or even Rock Salt all over the roads ahaha.
medik212 12-15-2007, 10:37 PM i'm still planning on coming, but my 325 is out of commission for the winter. I may still come in the mk2 gti I just picked up if ya'll will allow me haha.
digitalcox 12-16-2007, 02:29 PM So far the 10 day on weather.com is calling for a cloudy day on Saturday but Friday there is chances of snow showers. I'm either going out in a friends bimmer or if he isn't driving his out, we'll be coming out in my Jeep.
Charisma 12-17-2007, 12:13 AM I'm thur, hope ya'll don't mind some JDM goodness coming.
rotorhed 12-17-2007, 10:25 AM I might be able to make it, but will probably drive the 318ti in lieu of M Coupe due to salt/crap WX.
update: + it depends when Mattress Warehouse delivers my new uber $$ mattress on Saturday.
dp2275 12-19-2007, 05:24 PM according to the weather station, saturday is supposed to be 44* and cloudy. im not sure if ill be able to make it as i think i bent some valves today after i lost the timing belt tensioner while tuning. :mad
zookie 12-19-2007, 11:06 PM well, I'd be all for this, but I'm going down to Md to pick up my 325ic... so excited. wish me all luck ; )

Ramm328 12-21-2007, 03:10 AM If the weather isn't dumping something on us I'll be there. How many miles is the staples into york from the columbia/wrightsville bridge?
digitalcox 12-21-2007, 08:40 AM If the weather isn't dumping something on us I'll be there. How many miles is the staples into york from the columbia/wrightsville bridge?
So far the weather is calling for cloudy and a high of 44.
From the Wrightsville / Columbia bridge, if you just stay on the 30 the whole time you should be able to get to Staples in 10 minutes.

mmmcookies... 12-21-2007, 10:18 AM everyone ready for the meet tommorow? seems like what justin said weather isnt gonna be to bad:) at least no rain or anything shitty like that. Woot!!!
rotorhed 12-21-2007, 01:10 PM I'll probably be there in the 318ti.... (assuming Mattress dudes deliver in AM)
50% chance of rain after 10AM
70% after 10PM
EDIT: FedEx didn't deliver the ZKW's today as "estimated" so I guess I'll be in the M Coupe. Cops probably wouldn't like me driving down the road without any headlights installed on the ti.

Bob
Ramm328 12-22-2007, 04:19 PM :(Sorry I didn't make it. At like 8pm last night my girlfriend showed up at my door for a surprise visit:alright. She drove the whole way from Rutherford NJ just to see me for a day. I will definitely be down for february as long as I am not snowed in. looking forward to meeting other Pa bimmerheads!
carpediem 12-23-2007, 04:23 AM Yeah I had to work. I hope the Feb. one works out, because I'm going to that one (hopefully).

rotorhed 12-23-2007, 09:21 PM still had fun though
We did manage to get a few sprints in on the way to Dallastown.
I wasn't expecting to be asked "what's better Borla or SuperSprint" when the guy came to take our order :rolleyes
(I did get to spend the rest of the day installing my ZKW's in the ti. Adjusting was them was "fun".... )
Strahan 12-24-2007, 03:20 AM Man, I finally see meets organizing in my town and I got rid of my BMW a few months ago :( Sorry to hear your meet didn't come off too well. That's pretty par for the course with meets though, so far almost every one I went to ended up being low turnout heh. If you guys don't mind an ex-bimmer owner I may swing by if you meet again at a later date, I'd like to soak in some more bimmer goodness.. I've been driving a Buick since October. (cough, gag, cough) hehe
mmmcookies... 12-24-2007, 08:51 PM well to all that want to go to one there will be one in feb. sometime. more will be posted in a new thread later :)

digitalcox 12-26-2007, 03:18 PM well to all that want to go to one there will be one in feb. sometime. more will be posted in a new thread later :)
I would say wait until March / April for the next meet so the weather can warm up a little better and hopefully get a lot of salt or snow that might come during February out of here.

My Bimmers stay in the stable in the winter and will rarely even be out at all for the rest of the year. I just moved and they are all under covers :(
