Hi, my names bob, my 15 yr. old son josh and I just bought his first car, a stock 76 2002. I had a 75 auto about 15 years ago that of course I should have kept and did'nt. any way I've always loved 2002's. I'm not the greatest mechanic, but him and I are starting to fix his up to be a daily driver in the next six months till he gets his license. Its in fair shape with just a little rust under the trim lines and inside the edges of the hood and trunk. It runs and drives but needs some tlc that him and I can learn on as we go. One side of the parking brake cable is broke, and the shifter linkage is really loose, it looks like it is missing one of the allen head bolts that hold this linkage to the tranny. wheres the best place to get parts, does any part places have catalogs that they will send you any more or is it all on line? Hey what size of allen head wrenches are needed to get into the tranny and rearend drain and fills? and what oil do you guys recommend in the tranny and rearend? sorry about all the questions but I've been dieing to find a forum like this to get going. thanks in advance for any and all help. bob

This is a great forum with very knowledgeable members that can definitely help you and your son with any questions! www.2002faq.com is also a forum dedicated to this specific model with a great for sale section. Im in the same boat as both of you except well i'm trying to make a summer-fall/track car. Here is the beautiful piece of machinery that my father and I are working on: (I'm 19 and this is the 2nd car I've purchased :D)

You will find quite few 02ers in the PNW. when you go to the faq just tell em where you are, that you have beer and that you need some help. The better the beer, the better the help, he he.
