Okay, this is my second 1999 m3 shift knob. It's the one with the red lighted 5-speed stuff on top...

They both came off in similar fashion....

driving card hard, shifting like mad, my 1->2 shift is agressive (to say the least), and my motion is upward as well as back...

POP! (off it comes)...

Is there a way after it has come off to properly resecure it? (some kind of adhesive? what's a good adhesive to use? method?

Thanks!
-Ben

Did you make sure it was pushed on all the way? Some people have installed stock shift knobs, thought they were on all the way, and it turned out they weren't clicking into place.

Some people use some sort of tape used for golf clubs, but it's warned that you'll never get your knob off again if you use that...

This one (the second one) was installed by the dealer, I had nothing to do with the installation (it was done under warranty), same with the original...

I just eventually wear them out, they aren't held on with any screws (like aftermarket knobs). Just curious if anyone has used loc-tite or something like that...
