View Full Version : Shops in OKC area to install springs on 535i? arcticT 11-21-2007, 04:48 PM I'm wanting to lower my '08 535i with H&R sport springs. Anyone have any suggestions as to a good shop that can install them and do the allignment afterwards? Thanks JedzE36/5 11-21-2007, 05:57 PM i would recommend Penn Automotive. last time i took aftermarket parts to Bavarian Autohaus they gave me a huge speil about how i was ruining my car. for alignment i would recommend Merles on South Shields. if you have the parts and arent afraid to do some work yourself, we are having a project day on either Saturday Dec 8th or Sunday Dec 9th. arcticT 11-21-2007, 07:55 PM Well usually my brother and I do the easier work like springs ourselves. I'm just afraid to tear into this one. I have no idea what kind of electronic, specially calibrated gizmos i would find and mess up. Then again, maybe it's not so bad. My thinking is that I would pay someone to do it so if something got messed up, I could blame them! So you wouldn't suggest going to the dealer for an alignment? DocDuvi 11-21-2007, 08:42 PM wow that was fast 08' already getting mods were still in 07 :D haha We are having a project day! nice its prob gonna be cold as F*ck! lotuseater314 11-21-2007, 10:02 PM I second the suggestion of Penn Automotive (which is located at the Northeast corner of NW 36th and Penn). The main mechanic, Phen, is a BMW Master Mechanic who worked for Jackie Cooper a number of years before starting his own shop. He installed my Koni's and H&R springs for a really reasonable price. I wouldn't let any other mechanic touch my car. He's completely trustworthy and does excellent work. arcticT 11-21-2007, 10:09 PM Actually I kinda feel like I've been dragging my feet a little. Usually I do wheels/suspension immediately after buying a car. I've had this one for three months and still haven't bought anything because I just couldn't make up my mind what I want. I still haven't really nailed down a single choice for wheels, but I am narrowing it down anyway. I'll check into Phen at Penn Automotive. That's exactly the sort of recomendation I was looking for. I'll feel comfortable knowing he knows his stuff. lotuseater314 11-21-2007, 10:34 PM Yeah, I hear you. I researched suspension options for months before finally deciding on the TC Kline Koni/H&R setup. Good luck with your decision(s). |
