Had a little collision last weekend and just got word from Geico that they're calling it a complete loss. Adjuster said the frame rails are bent down and that's why it's totalled. Bodyshop is currently inspecting it for a more thorough estimate on the damage. I'm considering buying it back, but I don't have the storage space to part it out. Asking price is $6.5k OBO and would include the mods in my sig(ZKW's are destroyed). Let me know if you have any questions.

Like what? Feel free to ask questions. I haven't had a chance to take better pictures of the car since the accident. I'll post up the bodyshop's findings when I get them.

Edit: Car will have a salvage title if that wasn't clear.

Is the engine alright? And how is the steering column?

I'll post up the VIN # when I get home from work.
Mileage is 99k.
Is the engine alright? And how is the steering column?
Insurance adjuster says the engine is ok, but the pulleys were damaged. I'll hopefully have more detail when I hear back from the bodyshop. I have no reason to believe the steering column is not fine, but I can ask the bodyshop about it.
Airbags did not deploy.

Hmmm..doesn't look too bad, although you have to wonder what with pulley damage have the parts there attached to taken a hit. :(
Might make a decent track car build if the frame isn't badly beaten up.

Somebody that has a buddy or family member that works at a good body shop can fix that. Two new frame rails and you'd be good to go. However, if you pay full retail for a shop to fix it as a normal customer that will be ~10k at least.

Sorry to hear about your loss - at least you're okay . . . . I bet the other vehicle that was struck was a truck?

Yeah, it was an SUV. Our bumpers didn't quite line up....lol.
I just spoke with the guy who looked over my car at the bodyshop. He made it sound like the damage isn't that bad. I'm headed over there right now to look for myself. He said the frame rails look fine and all the damage is above them. The bumper is barely scratched. He said the engine is most likely fine. I'm heading over there right now to look at it.

As long as the frame rails are not bent or even kinked the car should be okay. If they are even slightly bent or kinked and they pull it out rather than replace them, I would be worried.

Best of luck . . .

some body shops wont even touch a slightly tweaked frame rail, they let it roll out the door... and just realign the car instead...:confused I have seen this before...

glad ur ok and sorry about your car..

Well, I don't know what to say. The bodyshop is telling me it will cost significantly less to fix than my insurance adjuster told me. In fact, they showed me an E36 M3 they are repairing that has worse front end damage than mine.....and Geico is paying for it. No salvage title for him. So now I'm wondering what my adjuster was talking about when he gave me his quote. I left him a voicemail. I need to see if I can work something out with the insurance company to get this fixed.
I may have jumped the gun with this ad, but I needed to see if there was any interest before I bought my car back in a condition that I have no use for. I feel like I was misled by the adjuster. He told me the frame rails were bent(etc) and he estimated the repairs at over $15,000.
I'm sorry, but the sale is off while I get this sorted out.
