Okay guys, well my hunt for an M3 is almost over and I have narrowed it down to three cars, all 6 speeds.

1) 2001 Titanium/Black,17,000 miles BMW certified, HK, leather, cold weather, xenon, sunroof, 6 changer, no power seats, $39,000 6/01 build

2)2002 Topaz/Black 10,000 miles, HK, Premium, cold weather, xenon, (Theft recovery vehicle), 11/01 build date!, slight scratch on hood and bumper, $40,000

3)2002 Alpine/Cinn 13,000 miles, HK, Premium, Cold weather, strut brace, winter wheels, 02/02 build date. $ 42,000

I am concerned with build dates of #2 &3 since BMW's release of the Rod bearings. And I like the fact the 2001 is certified, but the 2002 models could have better resale value. What do you guys think???

If you don't have to worry about it, don't let resale be an issue for ou. I think that #1 looks really good. The fact that it is certified would help later if a problem arose. Power seats are for sissies anyway! ;)

I wouldn't get #2 because it is a theft recovery...ever hear the old saying "drive it like you stole it"? I bet that thing was ragged to sh!t. I'm not big on white cars as I tend to notice the paint stains after a few years - white isn't as white. If you like white, then you should get #3 - newer and less miles than #1 and no black interior. If it were me and I HAD to pick one of those, I'd go with #1 simply because of the reasons stated here but I would change the interior sooon - I just don't like black interiors - had it before.

I would go with #3, it is the newest and most likely in the best overall conditional compared with the other choices. I think that color combination is also rare.

Ya, you can't really argue with the package on number three!

I am in the market for a e46 and am about to settle on a salvage title 2001 imola red/black 6 speed loaded no parktronic or navi though for 38K with like 15K miles on it ... its already fixed up and stuff and is getting a clear title in NJ but I really want black though ...

Email me And I can send you some lists I have compiled. I actually know of a 2001 Carbon Black/black loaded 6 speed in Jersey in your price range. FrankRoti@hotmail.com I find the deals because I look at over 8 different classifieds for BMW.
