Hello all, I am seriously considering buying a 2000 BMW 318i with 95k miles. It is metallic silver and has brand new alloys and tyres. They are looking for €9,950 but said their lowest price is €9,500. Is this a good price, should I be worried about the mileage or anything in particular. Thank you

I dunno the market where you live, but for a 2000 3series, that is a big chunk of change... I did a quick google search and there are a ton of bimmers in .ie - most of them priced MUCH lower than the 10k this chap is looking for:

http://www.carsireland.ie/search-results.php?make_id=10&model_id=&fuel_type_id=&colour_id=&transmission_type_id=&min_year=2000&max_price=12000&max_mileage=&location_id=&added=

As as what to look for is concerned, have a look at the stickies on the main page :)

Man that is a ton of cash for a 318i. It is a nice car. The 4-cylinder with Valvetronic should easily get over 30mpg. And it certainly won't be front heavy. I wouldn't pay more than €7k with those miles.

€9.5K for that milage is to high. I bought my 2001 318i two years ago with 60K on the clock for €11K. On that basis you should be able to pick up a 2000 318i (from a dealer) with similar milage (60K) for less than €9K. BTW I am delighted with my 318i, low fuel consumption, little in the way of repair expenses, drives well and looks good.

I have a 318CI, 2004 model with 18,000 miles.
I think it is a very good compromise between perfomance and economy.

You guys are all settling for 318s... I guess thats the difference between the European and the US market. I've had a 318i and I think it was inadequate for highway driving.

I have found it to be fine for cruising at anywhere between 70-100mph. No stress of strain whatsoever.

If we could buy 318 in USA, I would have gotten one over my 323. Better fuel economy, and easier maintenance. And Valvetronic ftw.
