View Full Version : Photo Spots...
MrBenz 11-19-2007, 10:52 PM Anyone know of any good photo spots in socal? I have been wanting to take some good pics of my car but i also want some sort of background that is cool...whether if be scenic, graphic, etc....i dont care. it has to be worthwhile though.
If you guys have addresses or main cross streets with the city, that'd be a plus....
thanks :)

Go try to get lost in long beach .... SO much to photo there..... if I was in Anaslime I'd maybe go to La Habra heights... lots of canyons etc.... head to the beach.... head to santiago canyon...may not be a good place after the fires though....
Good luck!

TestShoot 11-23-2007, 04:25 PM anyone know what street this is off of?
well it is obviously east LA. I think what he is parked under may be the 101 through downtown.
How about you go to Griffith Park, up the area near a restaurant called "Yamashiro", there are some scenic lookouts near Fryman canyon along Mulholland... Crystal Cove in Newport Beach, The Port of LA on Terminal Island, The KOREAN FRIENDSHIP BELL (http://images.google.com/images?q=korean+friendship+bell&rls=com.microsoft:*&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi) in Rancho Palos Verdes... The parking lot at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, The corner of Dayton and Rodeo in Beverly Hills (aka Via Rodeo Plaza)
TestShoot 11-23-2007, 04:30 PM Also around the Citadel off the 710 in Vernon near all the casinos.

TestShoot 11-23-2007, 11:29 PM Ok, this guy is actually here on the forums, he was asked many times for better rez and the location, he has not responded.
Photoshop? And here is why.
The angle of the buildings can only be from Chinatown.
Chinatown does not have a bridge with those distinct arches. According to LAPD whom I flagged down. Closest thing would be North Broadway at Pasadena Blvd. Maybe Elysian park, maybe near the Police Academy, but unlikely you will find a bridge up there.
Yeah, I drove up that hill to White Knoll, and Figueroa Terrace looking for the perfect angle.
Arched bridges:
Mission: faces in the wrong direction, too low.
1st: too low, bums everywhere, trains too
4th: too low, faces the wrong direction
6th aka Whittier has the altitude, but not the right angle, and no arches and no turn out.
I took some truly crappy pix of these places, if anyone cares.
ThirteenthCurve 11-24-2007, 02:07 AM i was just on google earth
the view is between dodger stadium and the buildings. dont know if thats been figured out or not.

I was up that way, did not see a bridge with those arches though, it was getting dark and i was actually out running errands so i did not see every possible location. the guy is "tye" here on bf

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a photoshop. You can't have a picture of one of those bridges and not have the scene of Downtown obscured by some hills.
Looks good though.... :stickoutt
TestShoot 11-26-2007, 01:23 AM I am a photographer, but not a car photographer, I wished I had better suggestions, but I don't. :(
I will start keeping an eye open and asking the guy that shoots the EVO ads for my client's agency.
