Would it be safe for me to take a pressure washer to my full polished wheels??

I was thinking i could take them off the car once every six months or so and just blast them with it?

I know i CAN do it, just wondering basically if i can hold the sprayer like three inches from the wheel without doing damage...

thanks

Depends on the sprayer. One of my buddies peeled up the concrete on his pool deck with a 3500 psi commercial washer. I've used a 2500 psi washer with a 45 degree nozzle on painted aluminum wheels before without harm.

Also be careful of stick-on balancing weights. I shot one of those right off once and never found it.

Also, much of your cleaning power not only resides in the PSI, but also the GPM (gallons per minute) as well. Gas cleaners tend to have a GPM of 2.5+ while electric ones are usually up to 2.5GPM on the high end, with most being around 1.5-2GPM. This is why there is a huge importance on knowing what the cleaning power of the machine is with GPM+PSI so that you don't strip your paint.
