A friend of mine came up with the name, so that's what I'm calling them. :stickoutt

These are two E36 M3 (should fit any E36 with split fold-down seats) "Snow Shovels." I took the rear seatbacks apart, painted the fronts black and used these for driving to/from events with my M3.

This was part of the beginning of my weight reduction, so these were used to simply prevent the objects in my trunk from becoming projectiles on the road during braking and they're easy to take in and out since the pop right in at the bottoms (I used a short bungee around the two T-hooks to keep the tops in place).

My loss of ruined back seats can be your gain.

$60

Prefer local/SoCal sale for delivery or pickup.

(Note: MANY more interior bits coming up for sale soon, so email or PM if there's something you need)

Pretty much anything not pictured here:

:D

Unfortunately, with work, etc., it'll take me at least a week to go through the boxes of stuff and inventory it all, but if there's anything specific you need, I'll grab it and take a pic. The car is a '99 M3 2-door and had a light grey interior. All interior parts I can think of are for sale.

I'm starting the weight reduction program my self, but still daily drive the car and like to keep the conditioned air in the cockpit vice the trunk. What are the panels made of (weight)?

Yeah... are these heavy metal pieces that make up most of the weight of those seat backs?

Make no mistake... these aren't lightweight pieces. They are the seatbacks, minus the leather and padding. Don't buy these thinking they're part of a weight reduction.

All these are really used for is when going to and from the track if you already have interior gone, but don't want anything impaling you in the back of the head if you have to get on the brakes on your way to the track. They're easy to take out once you get there.

Possibly, but I'll have to get them weighed and get a shipping quote posted for you. Hopefully tomorrow.

gotcha... my back seat is always down and r-comps/wheels stuffed thru on the way to the track tho, no room with that back seat up. :)

good idea tho, and very cleanly done

Bump. You don't have to ruin your own seats or fabricate anything. Save yourself time and hassle! :)

No scale at home, so I'll take them in to work tomorrow and get a weight from our shipping system.

What a wiring mess you got going on there!

So you gonna make the March race in Phoenix? Or you gonna make it after I'm not a Rookie anymore???

Yeah... lots 'n lots of wires. :D

I'm not sure about Phoenix right now. Car will be ready, but I'm going to feel out the schedule when it comes out in Jan (hopefully). That's a bit of a haul, but it's also a track I've never been too, so it could be fun. "Up in the air" is my answer, but I'm hoping we get something going in February.

Back to the guy asking for weights... sorry. I'm sick today and won't be able to get them weighed officially until tomorrow. Once I crawl out of bed this afternoon, I'll ballpark it for you, though.

Sorry, but I'm sick again today... I picked them up, and would estimate them to be about 8-10 lbs each.

Have these been spoken for yet? I'm very interested.

Not spoken for yet, so they're still available. If someone doesn't buy them by this weekend, I'll likely attempt to get the leather and cushions back on them and just sell the full rear seat setup.
