I am now ready to sell the car. It is listed on roadfly.com and autotrader now. just fyi

1997 M3
Dakar II with black interior. Build date 11/96.[/font]

The car has 38,000 original miles, and is covered under warranty until 60,700 miles or until Aug 2009 (whichever comes first of course)

Original paint, in near perfect condition. No accidents, never pushed hard. If it’s not in the garage it’s under a cover. The center seat belt in the back wasent even unfolded until 2 weeks ago.

Nappa leather was the only option that came with the car. No sunroof. No arm rest, no alarm, no cruise control, no cd changer, etc. The car is as light as it comes minus the cloth interior. Runs like new, doors shut solid, shifts feel sharp, no rattles or rust.

Perfect car for auto-x, STU class, etc

Upgrades include projectors, 4k HIDs (there was no way I would keep the terrible US spec headlights in my area), x brace, front strut brace, Alpine head unit (specific with amber lighting), stromung exhaust (to get some weight off the rear end).

I have very securely installed front splitters. I will remove them if wanted by the buyer.
The car has 35% tint all around. I will remove this if wanted by the buyer.
The front grill is painted black, if the buyer prefers the chrome stock look, I will pay for a new oem grill and install it.

The car is currently debagged, if the buyer would like to have the badges put back on, I will buy OEM and install them for him or her.

3m paint protection film has been installed on the hood, bumper, turn signals, headlights, fog lights, mirrors.

I will also include some extras with the car (never installed), JT underpanel, paintscratch.com paint/clear coat, about 10 H1 bulbs, a short shift kit from understeer.com, oem brake pads, mud flaps, Haynes and Bently manuals, OEM cover, records, and pretty much anything else associated with the car that I have.

Here are some photos I just took moments ago:
(sorry for the low quality, its a pretty gloomy day)

I am very anal about the cleanliness and condition of the car, and at the moment I really think it needs a thorough detailing. I am setting up a time to get it detailed with local guy who does incredible work.

I wish I didn’t have to sell it, but I am moving and it would just be easier for many reasons to let her go.

SOLD

Either you understand why this car is being sold for the price it is or you don’t. There are not many no-sunroof low mile e36 m3s out there. And I honestly believe this is one of the nicest you have the opportunity to buy.

If you have any questions what so ever (and I would think there are many) id be more then happy to answer them. I am sure I’ve forgotten things, but ill update this thread if I think of anything else. I have no problem taking photos, so just ask if your seriously interested.

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful car, man! I think it will sell within a couple thousand of your asking price. Absolutely beautiful.

Driver's side vader may have a tad more wear than one would expect on a 38k mile car, but the seats look very soft and with a bit of conditioning would be in like-new condition.

Just curious, what kind of warranty does the car have?

simply outstanding

The wear is really not bad at all, the flash of the camera really made the lines come out though. I'll take another one soon.

simply outstanding

Thanks!

The warranty is almost unbelievable, it covers just about everything. Maybe i can find the info in a pdf. But you can take the car just about anywhere, including a dealership.

Thanks guys, she really is just an incredible car. Beyond looks it drives like a dream.

As for the cup holders, I'm pretty sure you couldn't get the car without the them by 97, what else would go in those slots?

If someone wants the vin number i have no problem giving it to them. If your worried about a car fax, be my guest and spend the money :)

The car hasn't sold yet, i plan on getting it to someone next month but if someone wants to buy it now i wont stop them

Just FYI

Got the car Service 2 done today. Also got the battery replace, belts replaced, etc. Was a pretty penny but i want it to be perfect for the buyer. Looks like i am going to have the car detailed again this weekend. So the car will be put on the market everywhere mid next week.

how did you get the alpine deck with the amber lighting to match the dash? did you buy it like that or is there a way to swap out the lighting..?

ps. keep the car! 38k original miles.. PERFECT condition.. straight collector! :)

Good looking car, but I've never understood how no-sunroof is a selling point (have one myself).

Anyway, good luck with the sale - that's a good example of an E36.

Taking about 30+ pounds off the worst place to have weight on the car really helps on the track.

On older Alpine head units, it's a option in the settings to change between amber, red, green, blue backlighting

It's the OEM weighted knob found on zhp's mostly

True, but a dedicated track car would just remove the sunroof motor/cassette anyway. The biggest advantage in my opinion would be the (slightly) more headroom for a helmet.

Didn't mean to get sidetracked, good luck with the sale.

Nice car, glad it sold but did you ever drive it. 37K for mileage, that's super low.
