Anyone want some parts?

Good things to go are

Steering wheel.... Maybe...
16" Borbet wheels <----- Very Very nice come with Uniroyal Rainsport 1s
used M-tech springs
Used/new Rotors plus calipers (if wanted)
headlights are new.... use H1 bulbs

engine parts as well and anything else that suits your fancy. Make a note that this car used a lead additive to run correctly.

Interior is tan cloth. but you dont want none of that.

Transmission is spoken for, but the driveshaft and Mdiff may not be. I dunno..

Please PM me if you are interested. Parts will be coming from Europe.

PLEASE PM ME if you would like parts. Like I asked for. Its easier and quicker for me to do things that way since I am short on time. Thank you very much.

by the by... Things need to go quickly. I need an answer of yes or no, in 2 days.. no later please. I leave for the states in 2 weeks and have lots and lots to do. After that... no more cool euro parts for anyone.... well.. from me that is.

why did it need a lead additive? bc its a euro engine?

High compression, though it should have done fine with unleaded high octane. I don't think the e28 M535i is old enough to have the valve seat problems due to lack of lead in the gas.

thats what i was thinking.....the valve seats in tht engine should be hardened, u need lead for a high compression engine to run?

The engine is very high compression. But for some reason the car won't start now and my dad doesn't want to put more money into it. You think it would have lasted another 400km. Its probably the battery, along with the fuel pump and something else small. eh.. I dunno..

ANYHOW... I believe it needs the lead additive because at the time in Europe, they still had lead in their gas. The lead acts as a lubricant for the engine parts. And believe you me, it needs it. I almost ruined the engine by being forgetful. A little extra lead and it was back to normal.

Whats funny, was before the axle bushings went, and some other weird problem, but... with a broken valve, chewed up plastic in the timing chain, a bad headgasket and slightly warped head, it was still faster than my 540. Sport trannys are awesome.

Lead acts as a lubricant for certain engine parts (like valve-train bits) but should only be critical in much older engines. I'd guess something else was wrong if leaded gas was helping it along (by your description of all of the messed-up stuff, a lot could be wrong). In any case, the car should part out for some nice coin, though it looks like your powerplant is in need of big $$$ or a re-role as a boat anchor. The CR trans is nice. You keeping it, or is it already sold?
