Alright so I have been told there is no way to link the factory changer to the aftermarket radio... but if people can steal someones identity there has to be a way to connect the two together. Any one ever done this before? I'm not that technical with this stuff nor do I even know where to begin.

Oops, I feel silly anyhow, nope, but maybe you can trade a alpine changer for your bmw changer. I am sure a few people on here have alpine changers

I think you just answered your own question. The factory changer compatibility with the after market deck is not a question of wiring but a questions of software communication. I have never seen anyone do it.

Perhaps if you were a software engineer and had a way to write to the changer or deck. maybe both.

so I know this is proba dumb question but is there a section on here for trading or do I just throw up a post? I really don't wanna get rid of my factory changer tho... it is just so nice looking compared to the tacky stereo electronics that the jap fans seem to love.

there are some nice/clean looking cd changers out there...
just by doing a quick search these don't look very bad...
