Parted out my 1997 M3 and now pretty much just the shell is left.

Color is cosmos (black)

Car has nearly zero rust. Only spot is the rear drivers side quarter panel lower where the sunroof drain passes thru the sheet metal. Must how clogged at one point and water pooled up there (shocker on a BMW :rolleyes). Then 3 of the door sill plate mount holes have some surface rust around them. Also normal.

Body is 100% straight, no damage anywhere and paint is awesome!

Pics by request.

Asking $1000 for shell only

Still has steering column and column support intact and will come with vehicle.

Also have odds and ends laying around for additional cost.

Additional items (extra cost)
-rear trailing arms
-rear subframe
-rear deck lid with spoiler
-rear bumper with diffuser
-doors with mirrors and glass less door panels
-sunroof assembly
-ABS pump
-Brake master cylinder
-pedal assembly
-driveshaft
-differential
-halfshafts
-OE steering wheel

Some of these parts are also forsale seperately on BFC also and may be sold at any given point in time.

Will make buyer a package deal if the shell and the listed additional parts are wanted together.

Hmm...this wouldn't be cheap to ship to the west coast, would it?

is it a roller or no? oh btw i wanted to buy the tec3r but it would cost too much to convert it to OBD1 as per Vic.

No its not a roller, shell only with above parts available. Its literally, the shell with the glass in it.

And for shipping to the west coast.......its a whole car.......so whatever it would be to ship a whole car I would assume. I really have no idea though. Youd have to look into that on your own.

I might be interested in the Doors and Deck lid w/spoiler. Do you happen to have any front fenders?

First off, is there any rust AT ALL, or even starting on the lower seams of the doors? Does the deck lid have any rust or startings of rust along the seam under the license plate? Im looking to replace mine since there is rust that cant be fixed in these locations.

How much are you looking to get for those parts, AND how much would it be to ship to Michigan?

Thanks
Tony

Doors = ZERO rust

Decklid = ZERO rust

Yes I have fenders also

Doors are $500 for both with glass, sideview mirrors and mouldings; no panels

Decklid is $275 with spoiler (will not seperate)

Fenders are $75ea

If you were to buy it all AND ARE SERIOUS I would be willing to entertain $850 + shipping (FREE CRATING)

I can ship truck freight for a highly discounted rate since I ship thru my company. Shipping a 200lb pallet to MI wont be much.....prolly around $100ish or less. I just shipped my S52 in a fully enclose crate to portland from chicago for $285.

Great!! They sound like they are in really nice shape, however, knowing you have all these pieces, do you happen to have the front grill and front fascia available as well? If so, would the front fascia come with all of the under trays, brake ducts and fog lights?

Would it be possible for you to send pictures to tgolletti@hatci.com as well?

On a side note, being that this car is being parted out, does that me the car has been in an accident? Or I guess, why is the car being parted out all the way down to the shell? Has this car spent its whole life in IL?

Sorry for all the questions, but I truely appriciate your time and effort.

Thanks
Tony

The front nosepanel is available also but has some scratches on it from when the car was being built. It got slid on the floor one too many times. :(

Grills are available and are painted flat satin black. Looks beautiful; by far it was my favorite cosmetic modification......also my only cosmetic mod. lol.

No underpanel parts are available as they were tossed for clearance of my large intercooler.

Car was parted out because it was just too modified to sell it and feel comfortable with selling it. I didnt want it going to some yahoo who didnt really understand what he was buying. I could have waited to find the right person, but I would have been waiting a very very long time I believe. Given that, I felt parting it out was my best option. So far its working out well and Ive been able to provide alot of high quality parts to people needing them. :)

Car was never in an accident.

Car spent its life in upstate new york until april of 2005 when I flew out to Syracuse to pick it up. Been garaged its entire life. First owner was a traveling businessman and this was his travel car. He didnt travel in the winter so it was stored, same with the second owner. In my hands it was in the garage being built the first winter and sat in storage the second winter.

WOW!!! Thanks for all the great information. Im sorry to hear that you had to sell such the Modded car. I also can appriciate the fact of selling to to someone that had more money than brains. There is alot of that going around.

Anyway, and not to be redundant, is it possible to get pictures of the nose panel, Doors, Fenders and Decklid? Im not too worried if they have a few scratches as the car i just bought is not perfect. Im just looking to get rid of my major rust areas.

Do you except Paypal?

Thanks agian

granted, there is alot of wiring left in the car....pretty much all of it. because of that, it makes the car look like shit. esp if youve never seen a shell before.

I have not removed the wiring because some race car builders like to use parts of the OE harness and wiring. Because of that, the wiring stays as you see it until I have payment and the buyer wants it all stripped.

I'm confused.. was it wrecked? Why would you part it out like this?

StreuB1
12-07-2007, 02:14 PM
Cuz I tried selling it and there was no interest and the cost of putting it back to stock put me in the hole money wise not to mention all the labor on my end.

Parting it out was the best choice and its worked so far. Ive made a decent amount but am still negative from where I want to be.

I want to move the shell ASAP and whatever parts I can so I can clear out my storage unit and work on the drag car again.

mildly interested in the shell> I assume it comes with a title, correct?

on a side note, how much did you make for parting it out?

StreuB1
12-16-2007, 09:09 PM
It does indeed come with a title.

I have made the low end of what I wanted to make from it......i still have parts to sell. Ive made about $20k so far.

Bought the car for 12k......13.5k in mods......drove for 2 years......so in the end i paid to lease it for two years kinda. Im ok with what I have made. I made my mod money back, paid off the lien on it and bought an E30.

You just need space, know how, patience, a good reliable means to ship large volumes of parts time to time.......and you need TIME.
