View Full Version : I just bought a 2002 M3
KDAWG97M3 11-15-2007, 08:38 PM I am so excited, i have finalized a deal to take delivery on a 2002 M3 SMG tomorrow morning. I am moving out of my E36 :( into a E46. I am pretty happy. Black on black, manual seats, ( kinda of on the fence with SMG, heard horror stories, but also have heard great feedback, so we will test the waters.) 48K miles, great shape!!!! clean car fax, seems like great maintenance history. The best deal of all.....$25.7k out the door. they had the car for 61 days ( normally it would throw a red flag, but it is a out of town dealer, small town, not much market for an M3, wasnt even on the website!!) and wanted it gone!!! They kept telling me they made a mistake and the price was too low blah, blah, blah.
What do you guys think?
Congrats! :redspot nothing like jumping out of an E36 M3 into a E46 M3!
I'm always sketchy about small used car dealers, but at that mileage and price, you can't go wrong!

ohnoes 11-15-2007, 09:54 PM Only time will tell, but honestly, that price seems considerably too low. Good luck!

BillyTheKid 11-15-2007, 10:39 PM Doesn't seem TOO low - just look through the latest two editions of Roundel and see all the M3's for sale - they're going like hotcakes and at great prices. Best of luck to you on your new car - you'll LOVE it!!!!
Cheers,
Bill

The only thing i am concerned with is what will happen to the prices once the new M3 comes out.....i dont think the car will take abig hit, but the prices should adjust....

Make sure the rod bearing recall work was done!
Congratulations on your new 02M3! I have a set (both fronts and rears) of new Hawk HP-Plus brake pads that are made for your factory calipers. I will sell all for $100 plus $10 to ship. That's about half price. If you are interested send me an email to GordonGrayRogers@msn.com and I will check the part numbers on the boxes so you can confirm them on the Hawk website.
makaio 11-18-2007, 01:24 AM Congrats on a great price! Now's the time to be buying an e46 M3. Prices are way done, with the new E92 version coming out, and people off-loading their E46's because they are no longer the latest and greatest thing. I'm sure prices wil level off just like the E36 and E30 m3's eventually.
2002's in Seattle in very good condition run 28K - 29K, you got a great deal....
M3BimmerBilly 11-19-2007, 01:37 PM SMG too, you did it right.
