Search "Final Stage Unit". These are a common problem on the E39. Something inside of them shorts out and they cause the blower motor to function erratically while also draining the battery. The alarm thing I'm not sure about...My bro's alarm would go off like 5 minutes after locking the car, then when you'd go to open the car up, the battery would be dead... I figured I'd change out the common problem first and go from there. Turned out the FSU replacement fixed everything :redspot FP5241 11-15-2007, 08:51 PM Yep... when the battery gets low it trips the alarm.... ask me how I know... :shifty Final stage is a $60-$70 DIY and is a great way to begin your journey into E39 DIY hood. :D 98M3_4 11-15-2007, 09:12 PM sounds like the final stage unit may be causing your battery to drain low, setting off the alarm. Or while you may need to replace your FSU, it could be one of the alarm sensors acting up...the hood sensor is very common to act up and cause false alarms to trip flipppalot 11-15-2007, 11:49 PM thanx yall i searched the forums and found this diy .so in the am all should be fine on the MACHINE. There are quite a few DIYs up there and I'm adding to it every day. If you can't find it in that thread, that's when you want to run a search. This is the link...
