Here's what I said:

Lately in reverse I've been getting a shuddering and erggghhhh sound when I first hit the gas, but it went away.

Then it started happening for the first few seconds in drive. shudder shudder erggghhh shudder go

Today: It feels as if I have a huge vacuum leak, however, the engine does not shudder. It also feels like all the power isn't making it to the wheels. However, no lights have come up. CEL, transmission, nothing.

IF it was an engine problem, I'm sure a CEL would be thrown. It's not possible that it would shudder so much and not throw a CEL if it was the motor. So, I figure it must be the tranny.

But I need reassurance, so...............:help?

stick is the way to go........unless you are in rush hour traffic on the highway all the way home like me.....then you wish you had AUTOTRAGIC

throw in a better clutch and LTW flywheel and it sucks even more.

but seriously thanh knows all you need to know in terms of parts and know how on how to do this. i think if you add up work hours it takes less than half a day. dont quote me on that. he said the hardest part was the spring that pulls your clutch pedal back after you press it in.

I wish I had a 5sp but money is the issue and for now my auto does well with the chip......

I'm gonna put it up and see if the tranny mount is blown, cause that might also be it...but I tend to think it's the tranny itself..

Well, crap. Turns out my motor mounts and tranny mounts are shot. No manual for me. :(

you can still do it. :) no one else needs to know that its only the motor and tranny mounts.

there is a getrag 5sp swap for $600 shipped right now just look....and its in texas......I was thinking of a christmas present to myself but I dont know...if I could ...should I ????

dude...stock mounts are CHEAP on pelican parts. motor mounts for 328's are about 45 to 50 a piece, only 2, and tranny mounts are 10 for a set i think. stock though which is okay.

i need to do mine, so we can do ours at the same time if you would like...just gotta get the time to do it and have a jack to lift the motor a bit.

I would totally do it with you, it'd save me some cash, that's for sure; but I have to have the car for goin to Tulsa and getting to work over Thanksgiving, so I'm getting it done tomorrow morning. I'll still help with yours, I've got both a jack and jack stands!

On second thought... I'll take my truck back to Tulsa instead. I wasn't going to b/c it's supposed to rain, but I'll just put a tarp or something over the bed. Oh, this truck...I will provide pics tomorrowish. SO. Sounds like a MOFO project day is in order!
