So after fixing these cams, I knew I had to get a dyno to see what kind of numbers it was making. As some of you remember after the first install I was only at stock figures and went through hell.

I decided to get a dynojet instead of a Mustang dyno and also do A/F ratio, but after talking to Authority here in VA, they seem to have a very good dyno that is suppose to be top of the line, at least thats what they and also Karl at AA say. It's called a Superflow and it's suppose to be very accurate.

Anyways, this is my first real dyno with A/F, so can you guys post comments and educate me about my run.....

I can see the A/F running rich at the end, what does that mean to me? I'm clueless on this.........how does this effect the performance, and how can I go by fixing it...and do I really need to worry about it?

Also, as I have seen members post dyno sheets before, the curve is suppose to be smooth, I can see as also the guy doing the dyno pointed out to me that the TQ curve before 3K RPM is a little wiered and it's not smooth, it did it on both runs so he's not sure what that could be...?

Other than that, I'm very happy with the results :D

Anyways, here are my figures:

I appreciate any comments and suggestions.

You may have better luck posting this in the FI or technical section. I'll move it for you.

Well it's funny that you bad mouth Curry's about there dyno and there techs. Yet you go to another shop different dyno and get same funny torque curve at lower rpms. Not all dynos work the same and not all dynos are going to give the hp#s. If you are of those guys that jump from dyno to dyno just to see the big hp# you're never going to get a car that runs right. stick with the same dyno and same tuner. Next time you call someone names because you did'nt get the answers you were looking for make sure you know what you taking about first. I have forgotten more about making good hp then you ever know. Good luck car, and hope you don't see me on the road. 01 M3coupe 272.8 rwhp

you missed it yonkers, don't worry.

I'd guess two things are goingon with the numbers on that car:

1) software adaptation with the VASTLY different flow characteristics at lower RPM (due to the different cam profile) is causing some fuel-mixture inconsistency (see that the waves in the A/F are derivative of the torque curve.

2) at the top end, the heads aren't flowing enough for the cam, which is why the torque-curve drops off so quickly...

You know what I don't like about you newbies......you have no respect for the regulars here and second you just came on the board and you think you know everything......

FIRST off I'm not saying ANYTHING bad about Curry's, I have all my services done by them and never had a problem with them. I and all my friends have all our work done by them.

SECOND, the reason I wasn't pleased my original dyno done there was because MY CAMS WERE TIMED WRONG, I had to redo them and when I wanted to dyno, I just decided to go with a different one which is more accurate and one that has AF on it. Why don't you go and do some more reading before you start talking next time.....I've had several posts on this and obviously you haven't seen a single one.

THIRD, I'll be more than glad to see you on the road, believe me, you don't want to see ME on the road my friend, just make sure you do have insurance and you have your seat belt on! :boink

I'm happy with my dyno results......no complaints here.
